"PUMPKIN!" Daniel Cook yelled as he threw open the door to his new estate. Viewing the property would come later, but for now he wanted to see his daughter after a month apart.
"Dad!" JJ yelled excitedly as she jumped up from her bed and dashed down the stairs and into her fathers arms. "I missed you."
"I missed you too kid." Daniel said as he held his daughter closely to his chest. "You haven't gotten into to much trouble have you?"
"Of course I have." JJ scoffed as she pulled back to look at him. "Who do you think I am?"
"That's my girl!" He smiled proudly before giving her a high five.
"My baby!" Lauren Cooks voice sounded from the front door causing her daughter to spin around with a wide smile. "How have you been darling?"
"Great mum." JJ smiled as her mom pulled her into a warm embrace. "How was the trip?"
"Long." Daniel groaned as he threw himself down on the couch. "Luckily we don't have another for a few months."
JJs parents had both attended Hogwarts where they had met in their fifth year, Lauren was a Ravenclaw while Daniel was a hufflepuff. They had bonded over their shared interest in muggles and fell in love a year later. After they graduated they both became muggle doctors and got married, JJ being born a few months later.
"That's good dad." JJ smiled before a new voice spoke up.
"You know Danny, if you wanted to be on top of me you could have just said something." A muffled voice spoke up causing the family of three to share a confused look.
Daniels eyes suddenly grew wide and he quickly jumped up from his seat revealing a squished Jack indented into the sofa.
JJ burst into laughter, leaning back on her mum as she clutched her stomach.
"Sorry Jack." Daniel winced as he reached out to help the younger boy up. "Didn't see you there."
"Clearly." Jack scoffed before pulling the older man into a hug.
Daniel, Jack, and Ryder were a troublesome trio, almost worse than JJ, Jack, and Ryder. Daniel saw the boys as his sons and it was returned the other way around considering neither of the boys were close with their real families.
"What's going on?" A sleepy Ryder asked as he walked into the room, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.
JJs eyes instantly darted down to his exposed chest and she made an impressed face before turning to her mother. "Not so bad."
Lauren rolled her eyes and slapped her daughter on the back of her head. "Get your mind out of the gutter."
After their little reunion was done with JJ, Jack, and Ryder took it upon themselves to show Daniel and Lauren around the house. The boxes made it hard to get by but they managed.
"Oh and Sirius lives next door." JJ added as they finished showing off the kitchen.
"I hate that kid!" Daniel exclaimed causing his wife to raise her eyebrows at him. No matter how many times he denied it it was obvious to everyone that Daniel adored Sirius, possibly more than his own daughter.
"Romeo lives next door?" Lauren asked in interest as she shot her daughter a sly smirk.
"I'm not going to date him mother." JJ sighed. "But yes, he lives next door with the Potters. They're a lovely family. There is Mia, the mom, Fleamont, the dad, James, their boy who is also Sirius best friend and their other friends Remus and Peter who are staying the summer there."
"Do they go to Hogwarts?" Daniel asked curiously.
"Yea, and they invited us all to dinner with them tonight." Jack said as he opened the fridge, tossing an apple to JJ before grabbing one for himself as well.
"Hell yea that means I don't have to cook!" Lauren cheered before pointing at JJ. "Can you make a pie? We have to bring pie."
"Sure." JJ shrugged before pointing to Ryder. "Can you make a pie? I don't want to make a pie and we have to have pie."
"I knew that was coming." He sighed causing the group to laugh.
"What time is it?" Lauren asked as she walked up and wrapped her arms around her husband who smiled down at her.
After all these years they were still so in love and JJ could only hope that she'd find a love like theirs one day.
"She didn't say." JJ shrugged as she bit into her apple, sighing in content with the taste.
"Oh she stopped by this morning, we're eating a six thirty but she wants us to come over at five so that everyone can get to know each other better." Jack said casually as he jumped up to sit on the counter before bringing his watch to his face. "And it's only three now."
Jj spit her apple out and yelled at the same time as her mum. "THREE?!"
"Yea why?" Jack asked confused before pointing down at the peace of half chewed apple on the floor. "And I'm not cleaning that up."
"WE ONLY HAVE TWO HOURS TO GET READY!" JJ and Lauren exclaimed together before dashing to the stairs, no doubt racing to the showers.
The boys all sighed and shook their heads.
"Women." They all said together.
Daniels eyes suddenly grew wide and his head snapped it Jacks direction. "Wait did they say we only have two hours to get ready?"
"Yea." Jack rose an eyebrow.
Daniel suddenly shot up from his seat and dashed to the stairs. "WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY THAT SOONER?!"
Jack and Daniel both shared a look.
"Cooks."
