Through the dark

Chapter 5

When we arrived at the station, the rest of our group was already there. We were all put together in the questioning room. A FBI agent came in and introduced herself. Her name was Terry. She sat down and stared at Niall. "Isn't it a little weird that your girlfriend has been missing for a week now and you still haven't asked about her?" She started questioning.  Niall panicked at first but he tried to answer calmly. "My girlfriend? Oh i think you mean my ex?" He replied. "Your ex? When did you guys break up?" She asked back.

"A week ago." Niall said.

"Still doesn't explains why you haven't enquired about her" she said.

We all were thinking, Terry was fierce. "Um-uhh-uhm" Niall started to stutter. At this point we all knew we were going to jail. Terry got suspicious and asked, "Are you guys hiding something from me?" "No." Niall replied. "That day was like any other day. We went out together but suddenly we got into an argument. At first i thought the argument will not last for longer but it did. The argument resulted into our breakup. She got angry and left. And as per the fact that I've not enquired about her, i know she goes to her lake house whenever she goes through a breakup. I didn't want to bother her!" He added.

Tbh our mouths were wide open. We didn't expect that kind of an answer from Niall. Terry was about say something when Jen's father came in. We could tell by his face, he was angry. People who saw us getting out of the car must have told him. "What the hell is going on here?!! You can't simply bring our kids in here without our permission, don't you know it??" He said. He asked us to wait for him outside and we did so. We came out of the police station and were talking about Niall's way of answering. But then Louis started to yell at me and Jen. Jen got really really angry too. Louis said, "Who told you two to follow me and get me in trouble?!!"

"Trouble?!! What the fuck are you talking about? We saved you remember?!! Give us some credit you ungrateful son of a-" Louis interrupted Jen. "Finish the sentence, i dare you." Louis said.

Liam came in between and tried to stop them. "Stop it you both!! When will you understand we're in this together?!!" Jen left immediately and so did Louis. We all knew this will be a bumper on the road of our lies.
