~The whole story is written in DVDs POV~
"Daan, hurry up before they catch us", Jill whisper screamed. "If you keep your damn voices down, it would be a lot easier to sneak out, you nitwits", Viv noted with a pointed look. We were sneaking out of our hotel to meet up with some other players. Typically, we were free to go wherever we wanted during tournaments. But for some odd reason, the staff had decided that we were not allowed to leave during this European championship. Which I found especially ridiculous as we wouldn't have our first game until 5 days from now. But back to Viv tormenting Jill and me. We weren't sneaking out to do anything terrible persee. However, I'd signed at Arsenal end of last season. And with all the international teams being at the Euro's, my two new club teammates decided it was a good idea to introduce me to some of the other Arsenal players. I had at the chance of mischief, of course, agreed without a second thought. Now that we were actually on our way, I was getting a bit cold feet. What if the others don't like me? I can't just back out of a three-year contract.
I didn't get much time to think about it as we had finally made our way out some back door. "Bloody hell, Patten better be there because this would not have been worth it otherwise", Jill sighed. "Don't worry, I'm sure your girlfriend will be there. She's even worse than you when you guys are separated," Viv commented with a heavy hint of sarcasm. I snickered behind them; apparently, those two could be annoyingly close and lovey-dovey back in London. We had been walking for about ten minutes when I felt the guilt set in "guys, are you sure this is a good idea, Wiegman told us to rest, and we have training tomorrow". "Yeah yeah yeah, you're not backing out now, little one, besides we're almost there; it just past this corner", Roord and her stupid nicknames always I thought. Taking a couple of deep breaths we rounded the corner to see around nine girls shouting at one of the tables. "Ah, I wouldn't have expected anything else from them, I assure you, Daan just a couple weeks with us, and you'll be just like them", Viv muttered.
"There's my buttercup" Anna, who I had met before at Jill house, whipped her head around so fast my own neck hurt just looking at it. The two girls ran up to each other like they hadn't just seen each other yesterday. They had probably forgotten the world around them as they started to make out in the middle of the road. After a couple seconds, I heard a different girl yell, "can't you guys keep it in your pants for just one second, blimey not all of us are so in love. I think this is physically hurting my eyes" she grimaced and pretend to yack while the rest of the girls laughed. Viv walked up to the girls with me hot on her heels "hey guys, glad to see you all stayed just as weird as yesterday. This is Daan. You probably have all heard the rumours, but she's here to confirm them. After she wins the Euro's, she'll join our humble little club, so be nice" A wave of opposing statements about the Euro wins were fired back while I just shyly stood beside her. I'm, to most peoples surprise, not good when I meet new people, especially when it's in groups. The borderline crazy antics won't come out until I'm a hundred percent comfortable around someone. Which was far from what I was feeling at this moment.
"Hi, they can get a bit much at times. My advice just ignores them. That's what I do 90 per cent of the time anyway. I'm Beth; it's nice to meet you." The girl to my right spoke as she opened her arms for a hug. I gladly excepted it, "Hi, I'm Daan... but you clearly already knew that as Viv just told you" I facepalmed myself mentally. "It's nice to meet you too, Beth. You're on the English national team, right?" When I looked up, she smiled, and I noticed the beautiful blue eyes she had. They were almost like the ocean. I could feel myself getting lost in them but quickly snapped back to reality. "-its so weird, right? Ours isn't until the third. So when is yours again?" Shoot, I hadn't been paying attention, and now I had no clue what she was talking about "umm, I don't really know..." it was a poor response, but I couldn't come up with anything better at the moment. She laughed loudly, and I don't think I've ever heard something so cute. "You don't know when your first game is? Damn, you're almost as bad as Viv then." She snickered. Omg, that was her question. Of course, I knew the answer to that one. Christ, I must look foolish right now, I scolded myself. "Don't worry too much about it; our whole team normally just follows Kim around", she said with the softest smile. It was like she saw right through my confident facade. After that, I didn't really know what to say anymore, so I excused myself and walked past her to meet the rest of the girls.
