"Dani, do you know where my shoes are" Emma asked, looking around to find the missing object.

"I haven't seen them since you took them off" Dani, the 11 year old girl, replied with a mouth full of ice cream.

"Thanks, kid" Emma laughed, knowing the young girl was just messing with her.

"I think they're by the door" Dani replied, chuckling as she shoved another spoonful into her mouth.

Emma smiled as she walked over, seeing her trainers sat in the floor. Just before she could slip them on, the door knocked. Emma turned around and opened it, seeing an 11 year old girl that looked exactly like her daughter.

"Dani, how did you get out here" Emma asked with a confused laugh, looking down the hall before back at the door.

"What" Dani shouted out, only able to hear her name out of all that.

Emma looked back down the hall, shock across her face. She then looked at the door, instantly knowing who it was. The young girl smiled a little awkwardly, seeing the surprised face from the taller blonde.

"You're... Are you..." Emma asked hesitantly, unable to get her mind around all this.

"Yeah, I'm Theodora, I'm your daughter" the girl replied, giving a slight bigger smile to show she was happy.

"How are you here? Is your mother here" Emma asked in utter shock, looking around the door way to find her ex wife.

"No, mum doesn't even know I'm here" Theo replied with a giggle, worried at the reaction to come.

"Wait, how do you know who I am" Emma asked, remembering the agreement between her and her ex wife.

"I found this picture and asked who the woman and young girl was. She told me you were my mum and the girl was your daughter" Theo replied, holding up an old Polaroid from 10 years ago.

Emma took the photo and looked at it, somehow becoming more overwhelmed than before. She remembered how it was taken about three months before she left. Emma's eyes teared up a little, forgetting this even existed. She looked back up at the young girl, seeing her nervous face.

"That little girl is actually your twin sister, her name's Dani" Emma softly said, holding the phone back to her.

"I gathered by how identical we look and how bad mum is at lying on the spot" Theo replied with a chuckle, shoving the photo and her hands into her pocket.

"She is, isn't she" Emma giggled, remembering back to being with her wife. "She's probably worrying sick about where you are. Come in while I get sorted and I'll drive you home"

Theo walked into the apartment, looking around at it what it had to offer. Emma closed the door quickly, still unable to wrap her mind around this. She quickly slipped her shoes on and walked towards the kitchen, ready to finally explain the crazy story to her other daughter.

"Mum, can I-" Dani started, instantly stopping at the sight of her twin. "Mum, what's going on"

"Just get your shoes and coat on, I'll explain in the car" Emma said softly, knowing this is all a lot for either of them to understand.

As she went to go to the lounge area, she saw both just staring in confusion. She just quickly went to the corner of the room and went to her contacts, typing the number she remembered better than any other. Emma placed it to her ear and waited for it to start ringing.

"I'm sorry, the number you have dialled no longer exists" a recorded message said, upsetting the blonde instantly.

"I should have guessed" Emma mumbled, already knowing her ex would have changed her number. Emma sighed as she turned around, seeing Theo stood awkwardly and Dani wiggling into her coat. "Come on, girls. We need to go before it gets too late"
