Thoughts of her future in the underworld scrambled around in her mind. Akilah had developed a dislike for that place and would often negotiate with Ladybug not to send her on missions there. Of course, Ladybug would always fuss about it but in the end, he would give in and lessen the missions there.
That was also something that Akilah had noticed. She had noticed that no matter how infuriating or sometimes downright cruel some of Ladybugs missions were, he would always listen to her and try to make things easier for her. If a mission he had handed out to her was especially difficult, he made sure to prepare her fully before and even sent shadow puppets to accompany her. She had learned to differentiate between work Ladybug and regular Ladybug. He wasn't as evil and diabolical as she had originally thought that he was from their first impression.
In the beginning of her 'training journey' as he would like to call it, his favorite phrase was 'This isn't just work, it's your training journey to become a power and well-rounded magician'. He would accompany her on her missions in the beginning and then he gradually let her go on missions along.
After that he would occasionally visits during her missions and he would be joking play around with her. This might have been for his own amusement, but it also helped Akilah greatly. Because he always knew to show up whenever she was overwhelmed by a mission and needed a little break.
However the killings were extremely difficult to get adjusted to, she was shaking and quivering every time she hurt someone, the first few months and even year was pure hell. But eventually she overcame it, it became less of a burdensome mission and more of a way for her to learn to control her powers on other people.
Eventually it even turned into her testing and training her powers on the people in her missions. That idea had repulsed Akilah when Ladybug first suggests it, but she grew accustomed to even that. She saw herself as an artist, killing as her art and her magical powers was her brush. Every brushstroke is different same goes for every spell she had to learn to perfect her art, and if that meant going overboard with the kills something, so be it.
The new Akilah was nothing like the old Akilah that first entered the contract all of those years ago. Not even her appearance was the same as she had grown up during those years. She had change tremendously, slowly, and painful she had turned into a completely different person. Being linked with the old Akilah in name only.
"It has been a hell, but at least it was an informative hell." Akilah said out load as she felt Ladybug's presence appearing in the room.
"Indeed soon you will go back to the life that you once lived, peaceful and calm." Ladybug said "I wonder though...Will that life be enough? Will it make you happy Akilah?"
