The sun felt amazing on your skin, warming you up and leaving you feeling refreshed after a long week of studies. You're glad Will convinced you to come out today, otherwise you might've stayed inside catching up on sleep. He planned a whole date, a day on the lake in a slightly larger boat than what you're used to being in.
"You know how to row a boat right?"
"It's not that hard" You shot back, taking the oars from his grip and rowing. You could see him smirking, watching you do all the work just to prove a point. He often took advantage of your competitiveness to get out of doing things. Weirdly enough, you haven't caught on yet– or at least you haven't mentioned anything about it.
It was pretty early for anyone to be on the lake, most people were still training or taking lessons in mythology so it was practically deserted. Well minus the nymphs that decorated the shorelines, waving at you both flirtily.
After a few minutes passed, you started to break out in a sweat with all this rowing, the hot sun beating down on you and the lack of a breeze felt like death at the moment. However, Will reached out to stop you from rowing any further.
"Wait, wait" he mumbled, looking around and admiring the view before breaking out in a shining smile, "gods look at the scenery! You can't say I don't treat you to the finest of views."
You glance around to see the sparkling water, trees from the woods looked even taller than before, and the sun bleeding through the fluffy clouds that decorated the bright blue sky.
Your attention shifted back to Will who was examining the landscape in wonder. He looked so innocent, his golden curls looked so damn fluffy– what shampoo does he use? His nose is also really cute, the curve of the bridge was so... ugh.
"Don't go creepy on me, Y/n!" Will laughed, flicking some water up at your face.
You sputtered and moved to splash him back, "You're the one who insisted on coming here, alone with no else around!" You quirked an eyebrow teasingly, poking him in the chest, "You trying to kill me, Solace?"
He leaned forward, nearly brushing his cute ass nose against yours, "Well I was reconsidering, but since you've figured it all out..."
Your breath hitched and all that was running through your mind was, "Do it. Kiss me, bet you won't. Please kiss me."
He pulled back with a knowing smirk, the kind you'd want to punch him for wearing. Your heart was still hammering against your chest and you already had to remember to breathe manually because you stopped for some reason. You had to pull yourself together, this was just pathetic.
Will leaned forward and rested his head on his open palm, "You're still taking your medicine on the regular, right?" The change in subject and mood threw you.
"Hey, I thought we were supposed to be 'escaping from our responsibilities' or whatever you said?"
He gave a pointed look.
You sighed and rubbed the back of your neck awkwardly, "I forgot them this morning, but I have been taking them!" You knew having Will as your doctor meant persistent check-ins, but wow he could really catch you off guard.
He reached for your hand, smoothing over the back of it and mumbling, "You have to take them consistently." He bit his lip and looked up at you with those baby blues, "I hope you know that this means regular check-ins now from your favorite doctor."
You scoffed, "You already do that!"
"Aha but now I have an excuse to see you."
You bit back a smile, "You don't need an excuse, dummy."
Will chuckled and leaned against the side of the boat beside you with a little more force than intended. The boat teetered and the flailing from the two occupants on board didn't lend a hand to stablize it. The still water sloshed violently and before you knew what was going on, you hit the chilly water.
Despite the warm weather, the lake still kept it's refreshingly cold temperature. If one is prepared for the refreshing splash, it's bliss. But if not– like in these circumstances, it's a chilling wake up call.
You both resurfaced, laughing and scrambling to flip the boat back over so you could climb aboard. Will struggled trying to flip it, but he was also laughing too hard to actually put in any effort.
"I guess you could say we're having a flipping great time huh, Y/n?"
