At the beginning of time, there was a universe. That universe contained thousands of galaxies and millions of stars and planets alike. Our story starts in the Milky Way galaxy, about ten thousand light years away from the Galactic Center. A Galaxy of nine planets and their reigning star. The planets are as follows, starting with their reigning star; The Sun, then Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
In the beginning, the only planet that was inhabited by the galactic species was the Sun. The remaining planets were abandoned. Trouble was amiss in their perfect kingdom, as their Solar Council was facing pressure from a ruthless King, threatening to overthrow their system. They used a system of elected kings, and the solar council as a cabinet, to offer advice. When the king decided he wanted to control the galaxy for himself, things went south. The Solar Council dispersed, and each separate King or Queen traveled to a different planet, consuming the now-inhabited eight planets, and creating kingdoms of their own.
The planets have operated the same way now for decades. Years after the solar council dispersed, they re-emerged, under a new system; a strict and organized one. The rules were simple and elaborate all the same. Each planet would have a king and queen and be required to produce at least two heirs. Each planet would focus on a main system to keep the solar system balanced, and all profits equal and beneficial to the solar system. When the king and queen's heirs came of age, the council would have a meeting to decide which planets were ready for new rulers and arrange a marriage. The arranged marriages were between planets and their closest neighbors only, as it was easiest for travel.
Each planet is different in culture and landscape. There is no religion in the solar system, as the kings are their own rulers. This has caused wars, and this has caused peace. Each planet has at least one moon, and on these moons live magical creatures, like wizards or moon fairies. There are different types of magical beings throughout the galaxy, but the solar system seldom travels that far. Though seemingly plain, each planet is its own distinctive world.
The leaders of Mercury are power-obsessed. They want to control the entire solar system. Their people's name is Mercurian, and their culture surrounds a dark theme, buildings are made from dark-colored stones, they are rustic, and wear dark clothing. The whole planet is a dark grey color, laden with grey rivers and the occasional black lake. Every night the planet heats up since they are in close perimeters with the fiery sun. The water on Mercury can withstand the Sun's heat, but the heat is what causes its dark color. Their planet is filled with vegetation, and a lot of animals reside within their vast forests. They value education, and base their economy on business and making deals.
Venus is a planet consumed by wealth, from their Veranian Slave Trade. Sand dunes and sand caves scatter the vast sweltering desert that is Venus. Frequent sandstorms canvas the lands, causing Veranians to take shelter multiple times a month. Like Mercury, the planet of Venus is hot. Their buildings have an arabesque touch to them, covering the art inside the palace walls and other buildings around the kingdom. The palace is tan, and dome topped, covered with perfect creme bricks, resilient to the harsh grains of sand. The inside is luxurious, filled with custom velvet cushions and elaborate tapestries. Venus prides itself on high education for men, and proper etiquette for women.
Earth is unlike the two planets before theirs. They have always focused on their environment, even though the plague makes it hard. Before Plague Zero hit, Earth was plant-filled and luxurious. Great blue oceans and salty seas covered over half of their planet. The lands ranged from sandy deserts to cool rainforests. A few places were snow-covered, year-round. After the plague hit, the lands were droughted. All signs of vegetation were wiped from existence. The blue water turned a darkish brown-gray-green. The castle is made from high-tech reflective glass. The Earth's planet was first in technology a decade ago, now, the planet is rotting. Earth's misfortune caused it to turn to machines, in hopes that the system would stay balanced if what was lost was replaced by electronics.
Mars, a planet of ancient ruins, designed with elaborate pillars, statues, and military training bases. The two queens of mars, the only both female exceptions, rule their kingdom prepared. The planet has a constant sunset glow, casting a beautiful shadow over the vast terrain. The rocky land makes for perfect practice. The fighting is like a tradition, as mars have been a war planet for years. Though quite peaceful now, it's an order from each martian to be taught how to fight, use weapons, and survive. The place itself is a simple white stone castle, with orange terraces and royal colors incorporated into the inside. The golden doors seem inviting unless you are an enemy. Mars has prided itself on teaching tactical skills to every Martian and bases their economy on silk and other textiles.
Jupiter is the largest planet and took over Earth's technological advance. They've created several gadgets and large screens to aid in the solar system's communications. The city-scaped planet is openly crowded, with vibrant buildings and many stone pathways. The Jupitans take pride in their planet, and their large castle, yellow and purple. They strive to show their cheerful demeanor to their people. They usually organize all solar council meetings, as they have the most space. They have simple vegetation, trees and flowers, and plenty of city wildlife. The constant perfect temperature lies between warm and cool, making it the most popular spot for vacations and comfort. This is how they best make their profit, as well as sell their technology.
Saturn's best feature, its rings, are like a wilderness. Cool and rocky, and full of wild creatures. Saturn is home to the most animal activity and is popular for its diamond rain showers, and dense black forests. The saturnine are creative people, focused on the exploration of the solar system and informing the solar council of patterns in history, science, and exploration plans; which are usually denied. Saturn is like a large small village, with cobblestone streets, and old fashions cottages. Usually bloomed by vibrant flowers and pretty greenery. Saturn is the most isolated and "shy" planet. They keep to themselves, yet are usually a topic of discussion among many other planets. One reason being such is their palace. Told to be the most beautiful of all the palaces; it's an enormous glass structure, with flowing terraces like a waterfall of shiny opaque glass. They are known to have the largest library in the solar system, which is also glass. Saturn is usually used for weddings, because of the charming landscape and "honeymoon" aspect.
Going along with beauty, the Uranians of Uranus focus on architecture, and building. They have elaborate materials and designs that they have used to build several castles and houses in the past. Uranus is cold, and hilly, with large vegetation of mossy greens. People not used to Uranus would wear light jackets or even coats if they are near the planet's closest to the sun.
So far the planets have had rivers or even small lakes. Neptune on the other hand is a planet of the seas. With two seas on each side of Neptune, the Neptunians are not afraid of water. Rich in culture the Neptunians have several water-related traditions, and most women have braided hair. The terrain is rocky in the oceans, and wet everywhere else. The cold calm of the planet is serene and mystical. The large dark blue castle looks bulky and strong, warning anyone else of its power. Neptunians make their profits on sea production and the riches that come from it.
The last planet in the solar system, the one that's never talked about, not out of boredom, but out of fear. Pluto. Frozen, dark, and desolate. Rough terrain and ice caves were once a large topic of exploration; now, it is just the abandoned plane on the edge of the solar system. Pluto has blue icy deserts and black bare trees. Home to a few kinds of vicious beasts. Once it was inhabited by magical creatures as well as the other planets, and now, it's empty and dead.
