"Mommy, what is this?" The little child asked as she looked at her white beaded necklace in awe.
"It's something everyone is required to wear. It's complicated so I'll tell you when you're older. Ok?" The mother answered her daughter.
"Ok, Mommy!" She said before she happily skipped away to her room.
"Honey, I don't know how we're going to explain this to her." The mother said to her husband.
"Just let it happen. By the time she's ready, it will have changed to green and then we'll know." He said to his wife as he comforted her. "For now, let's wait until she comes tomorrow and tells us about how it turned yellow." He kissed her on the cheek.
"I just hope Elli doesn't go through what I went through. I hope she has someone to help her through her tough times like you did for me." The mother said to him before kissing him on the lips. "Now, what should we make for her birthday dinner tonight?"
"Hm, what about spaghetti? That is her favorite after all? And while you do that, I can make the cake." The husband answered.
"By "make the cake," do you mean you'll go to the store and buy one again?"
"Of course. You remember what happened last time I tried to make one, Belle." He laughed.
"Of course I do. How could I forget? My parents called you "Pyro Ryan" for a year." Annabelle joked.
