Today is the day, tryouts for the Dinosaurs(Dinos for short.) Julie had been practicing since May. When she arrived at tryouts everybody stared at her. There were no other fat soon-to-be cheerleaders. Julie felt different than everyone else, but she didn't know that it was good to feel different. Everybody is different in their own way.
The coaches had them tryout one by one. Julie had been number twenty-one. They had just called number twenty, it was almost time for Julie. Five, four, three, two, and one. It had been time for Julie. She was so scared. Of course she was, everybody was, but for Julie it had been in a different way. Her weight was the reason she had been scared that she won't make the cut. She tried her very best. Julie started off with a cheer she made up. "We will, We will, rock you down, shake you up, like a volcano ready to erupt, people in the streets always say, Who them Dinos gonna beat today?!" Julie cheered. Then, she did some jumps. Her straddle, hurkee, and high kick weren't as good as her cheer, but she thought she had did a great job. The coaches were just staring at her. She was waiting for answer. Then, all of a sudden the coach said,"Sorry hun, but you didn't make it." Julie was sad, but she didn't cry, she just walked off. Then, one coach told the other, "One of the cheerleaders we recruited broke their legs practicing after tryouts." After that, the other coach yelled out to Julie saying, "Wait, your in." Julie was happy to hear that. She cried out,"Thank you, you won't regret it." "I promise."
