"Alvin. Now where did your parents come up with a name like that?" You ask, as Al traces the back of your hand.
"You ever heard of the song called 'Twine Time'?" He asks.
"Can't say I have." You let out a short, airy laugh.
"Needless to say, I was born in '64 and that's where my name came from." He says.
"It's German but you're Greek. It means 'an old friend'." You say.
"Hm." Al lets out a soft sigh as you sit back into his arms.
A couple of minutes pass and Al's phone starts to buzz on the nightstand. He slides you to the side and reaches for it. He looks at the caller I.D. and snickers.
"Olinsky." He says, answering the phone.
The other end of the line is quiet but you can hear Voight's voice faintly.
"Yeah, just give us five minutes." Al says as he pulls the phone away from his ear and ends the call.
"Looks like we have ourselves a case. Get dressed, I'm driving." Olinsky lets go of your hand and you stand up.
"Why are you driving? I drive a 2004 Mach 1, I'd have to bet it's faster than that 2007 Magnum sitting in the driveway." You say as you pull your shirt over your head and button your jeans.
"It's also 2 o'clock in the morning and I don't need you ripping it down my street like it's a drag race." Al says as he pulls his belt through the loops on his pants.
"Tell you what, let's race." You say as you slide your Glock into the holster.
"It's on." Al says in a condescending tone.
Both of you rush downstairs and get into your cars. You start the engine of your Mach and it turns over beautifully. Al sits in the driveway revving the swapped Hellcat engine. He backs down the driveway and both of you flip on your blue lights. You shift into first gear and take off. Al paces behind you, attempting to pass you. As you turn onto the main road, it opens into two lanes and Al pulls up next to you.
"Manual versus Auto baby." Al yells and then speeds past you.
You shift into second gear, pace the back of his car and pass him. Turning left onto a one lane street, Al passes you, crossing into the oncoming lane and speeds up. He pulls up to the scene and you pull up a few seconds later.
You get out of the car and both of you walk over to the rest of the unit. Al walks behind you.
"The Mag will always win." He whispers and then brushes past you.
