Being a part of the dark side of the world surely came with its dangers, despite the fact that you got to earn a lot of money and enjoy the aftermath. The things you had to do for it were for sure not worth risking your life. You could say something similar happened to changbin and Hyunjin.

The two were a couple, loved each other dearly, and treated one another with respect and care. Meeting back in high school, until now, almost 5 years later their relationship was still going as strong as they were with their first couple of months in.

One incident led up to another and then changbin had found himself involved in the dark side of the world, a place where he would have never imagined to see himself be but his bad luck had brought him here. At first, it was easy, simple selling drugs to the hidden mobs of the town.

Everything was going safe without a sign of Hyunjin finding out what Changbin had been doing. The other lad did wonder from where chan was getting all that money. But didn't really pay that much attention to it. At least he was keeping him happy, that was all that mattered.

After a whole year of doing his "secret" job, changbin had found himself getting involved in things he shouldn't have, but there was no point, he couldn't go back in time and change his stupid decisions. He regretted it, he did, a lot. He didn't imagine that the one person who he loved so dearly with all his heart would be taken away from him.

Just from a simple mistake that occurred while he was doing what he was told to do by his boss. He just messed up, his mind was too occupied by the amount of money being given to him in exchange for killing somebody, leading up to him making a huge mistake and since everything went downhill in his life.

All that was left was a small note, a note that proved that the love of his life was taken away from him, far far away. He couldn't do anything just sit and stare at the note crumpled up in his hands, days turned into weeks, then months, and then years. No sign of hyunjin whatsoever. He cried. That's all he had left to do, he was hopeless and defeated.

Why did he even get involved in such a business in the first place, just because he was greedy and hungry for money, he could have simply done anything, just to make hyunjin happy. But it turned out that nothing seemed to be turning into happiness instead of the complete opposite.

2 years had passed since Hyunjin's disappearance, changbin had matured enough now, but still healing from the past. Luckily he had found a better job, much much better than the one he had before. Even though the pay wasn't as good it still made him feel better. At least he wasn't doing something dirty and against the rules.

He learned from his mistake, learned to become a better person but through all that he hadn't forgotten about him, about hyunjin . He missed his smiles, his hugs, his kisses, and all the time they had spent together making love.

At around 11 pm he was coming back from work, a simple white shirt and black trousers attached to his body. He was carrying a briefcase containing his office documents and other work-related items. It was late at night and unfortunately, he didn't have any money for a cab; spent it all on the party with his friends.

The journey back to his apartment was a 20-minute walk, going through dirty alleyways and isolated paths. It was all so quiet, no sign of any human besides Changbin and another man, to who he didn't really pay attention to. Probably another person like him trying to reach their own house.

He took a right turn leading up to his apartment building, just 2 mins more ... he saw that the person behind him wasn't there anymore and probably took another path or something. Changbin soon came out of his thoughts when he heard his phone ring, a call? he thought.

He took his phone out of his pocket to check who might be calling him so late at night. It was an unknown number, strange. He picked it up after some thought and politely said hello? All he heard from the other side of the line was the rapid breathing of a person. No words coming out of their mouth just fast, constant breathing.

Hello ? Changbin called again, about to end the call as he heard the same thing repeating again when suddenly he heard something, a hoarse voice.

" Changbin ," the voice said. Changbin panicked, how did they know his name?

" Changbin, listen to me, I-I am sorry," it took a deep breath "I am sorry, I-I love you so much... p-please." He heard a sob from the other end, he was confused and scared at the same time.

Because as much as he didn't wanna believe it the voice kinda sounded like hyunjin's. But he still wasn't sure. As he opened his mouth to speak as he halted on his tracks when the person hung up, and he stared down towards the screen.

As he averted his gaze from his phone screen he came face to face with a person. It startled him, all of a sudden, out of nowhere there was a man wearing a black hoodie and a black mask which covered his nose and mouth staring right at his eyes.

He had a fixed gaze on changbin, making him unable to move any part of his body. The two kept staring at one another, something about that man was so much like hyunjin, at this point changbin thought everything was hyunjin to him, he just missed him so damn much. That was until the black-hooded man in front of him closed the distance between them and hugged changbin taking him in a tight grasp. Making changbin even more confused and horrified.

What was happening today? Changbin pushed the man away looking at him and threatening to call the police. The other male's eyes blew wide; he quickly shook his head and looked down, after a couple of minutes as he looked back up his eyes were smudged with tears. In a sudden action, he ripped the mask off his face.

There, there right in front of changbin stood the man he had been looking for, the man he had been dying over for the past 2 years, the man he thought might be dead. There stood Hwang hyunjin, with long black hair rather than the blonde he had last back when changbin had seen him. Changbin felt a tear drip down his face, hyunjin sobbed harder. Changbin was in utter shock and couldn't do much but take hyunjin in his grasp, hold him in his arms like he used to back then.

Had god finally forgiven him, thought that his punishment was finally over, here, in an isolated dirty pathway. It didn't matter where he was, all that mattered was hyunjin. His hyunjin was back, in front of him engulfed in his arms. He hoped that the tears dripping down both their eyes were tears of happiness. They finally got to see each other, what's better right?

Or...maybe not. Maybe God still wasn't pleased with his past sins. Maybe he still had to pay back for his mistakes. Cause that's he felt a stinging pain on his neck, a sharp pain ripping through his body. Though he wasn't dead, he hadn't been stabbed or shot. It was a needle that had been pressed against his skin, a needle that would suspend his life into the dark once again, and forever...
