"Frankie!" My mum shouted from the bottom of the stairs. "Frankie, it is 7:45 am. You're going to make me late. If you want a lift get your butt down here."

I rubbed my eyes and groaned. "5 more minutes mum, please that's all I'm going to ask from you." I begged.

"Francesca Louise Baker you will get down here right now or I will ruin your life and I mean it," She warned.

"You already have." I said to myself.

"I heard that." She shouted back

I dragged my body out of my bed. Note to self: next time we move, make sure you runaway Frankie, somewhere where sleep is encouraged. I went to the toilet, brushed my teeth and did my business. I went downstairs into the kitchen and saw that a bowl of cereal was on the table. I sat down and started eating slowly. You can't rush food, always enjoy the moment and waste time so don't have to go.

My mum walked in. She had the same green eyes as me. Her brown bob that used to be classy had grey streaks and her hair was becoming thinner. She looked frail and she had bags under eyes but her makeup did a good job covering that. I felt sorry for her. Last year my parents split up after my dad was having an affair. The loser left us for someone half his age. My mum became depressed and she thought so low of her self and I didn't help her since that was when I went completely off the rails and I'm not exaggerating.

He tried contacting me but for the sake of my mum I shut him out of my life and I change my surname to my mothers maiden name which was Baker. We stayed with my auntie in Devon for a couple of months and this was the first house I lived with only my mum.

This time I was going to try and at least finish school at this place. I didn't have a problem with the studies. In exams I always came first so yeah I'm smart but it was the people. Someone always had to piss me off. My mum calls me a fire work, I guess she's right in a way.

"What are you doing?" She shouted

"Eating my breakfast mummy." I said innocently, batting my eyelashes.

"Why aren't you changed yet?" She started freaking out. When my freaks out she usually walks up and down the room breathing and reassuring herself that everything is okay and all that crappy stuff that never seems to work.

"I don't like the uniform." I stated truthfully. She went back to angry mum mode. "That is not an excuse young lady. We came here for a fresh start year remember. And what did you promise me, ' I will leave behind all my bad habits like my stubbornness which led to my past 5 expulsions from school.' " She reminded me.

"Oh yeah, I remember now. That's I have you mum, to remind me things like that." I smiled.

"I haven't finished yet." She gritted through her teeth.

"Whoops, what can I say I don't control my mouth, it controls me. Ya get me woman." I said jokingly.

"You will get changed whether or not you like it. Now go." She pointed towards the door.

"Fine." I sighed whilst walking towards the door. "You win, that's why your the mum and I'm the kid."

I went back to room again and I looked at the uniform that was on my dresser. A black blazer, a white shirt, a plain green tie, a green tartan skirt, green tights and black ballet flats. I feel like puking. I mean who would in their right mind wear this. The green looks like mushy peas. There is absolutely no way I would wear this. I would rather lick poo than wear this. I went to my closet to look for things that I could substitute this crap for.
