Steve shakes his head. "I'm not in the mood," he says again.
Tommy is trying to convince Steve to go to a Halloween party tonight, but recently Steve hasn't been wanting to go anywhere. Especially not a party.
"Dude," Tommy begins, "you have to go. Everyone is going to be there. How are you supposed to be the King if you don't even show up to one of the biggest parties of the year?" Tommy asks.
Steve doesn't feel like putting up too much of a fight. Besides, all of his energy seems focused on Billy Hargrove. Steve and Billy don't get along very well. Anytime they see each other words are passed between them. But Steve doesn't mean anything he says to Billy. He honestly could care less about Billy's threats to steal his crown. He can't show that, though.
"Fine, I'll go," Steve says with a sigh.
Tommy smiles. "There you go."
———
Steve arrives to the party a little late. There is already trash all over the place and intoxicated teens puking in bushes. Great. All Steve has to do is make an appearance, make sure Tommy, Carol and them see's that he was at the party, drink a few, and then he should be home free. Ugh. Steve can't remember for the life of him why he ever liked parties.
He begins to walk through the house, ignoring all of the girls who are 'accidentally' touching him. Once he gets to where the coolers are, he grabs a beer and pops it open. He takes a few chugs before going to the back of the house. He stops in his tracks though once he sees that Tommy and Billy are walking towards him. What are they doing together?
"Looks like we got a new keg champ, Harrington!" Tommy yells over the crowd.
Steve looks Billy up and down. Billy has his buttoned down shirt fully unbuttoned. He makes sure to quickly avert his eyes away from Billy's abs. When Steve looks at Billy's face he sees a big fat cocky grin plastered there.
"I told you I would take your crown, pretty boy," Billy says.
Steve rolls his eyes. "You've said a lot of things."
"So I have." Billy takes a long drawl on his cigarette before giving Steve a quick smile and walking away.
"I don't know," Tommy says.
Steve looks at Tommy. He honestly forgot he was there.
"You don't know about what?" Steve asks, annoyed.
Tommy shrugs before following after Billy like a lost puppy. Fantastic. Now, Tommy is friends with Hargrove.
Steve quickly chugs down the rest of his beer before taking another. He's here, so he might as well get wasted.

"Steve," a voice says softly. "Steve, wake up."
Steve slowly opens is eyes to see Mary kneeling in front him.
"Wh-What's going on?" he asks.
She chuckles. "It's midnight. A lot of people are starting to head out."
Steve looks around. He's outside, leaning against the wall on the far side of the house. He doesn't remember much. All he remembers is the drinking, the dancing, and...
Steve looks up at Mary horrified. "Crap, I-"
Mary interrupts before he can finish. "Steve, it's all good. You were just drunk."
Steve shakes his head. "But I kissed you."
Mary looks away from him quickly, seeming to try and hold back a laugh.
"What's so funny?" he asks, confused.
Mary smiles. "It was just a peck on the cheek. Besides, I thought it was kind of cute... if I was into that sort of thing."
"Huh?" Steve says.
Mary stands up, bringing Steve to his feet. Steve shuts his eyes close though as a headache begins to form.
"I can drive you home, if you'd like," Mary says. "I know you aren't really drunk anymore, but still."
Steve nods. "Sure, thanks."
