It was a muggy May afternoon, it should of been a normal day in Houston, TX, but one thing was certain this date May 12, 2020 would never be forgotten and would change the trajectory of many lives forever. This was the day Danny Tanner was to bury his wife Pamela with whom he'd been married to for 14 years. Danny's life was everything he could ever hope for a beautiful wife who loved him and helped him manage his OCD on almost a daily basis and three equally beautiful daughters. Danny would get the one call he would never forget and wouldn't want to if he could, already half irritated because he was expecting his wife to be home 30 minutes ago which his children found more amusing since he rarely ever got mad. "Pamela where are you at" he asked not checking the phone to see what number had called him "Umm no this is Officer Hernandez with the Houston City Police Department I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this, but your wife has been in a terrible accident, and is being transported to Houston Methodist as we speak." "What do you mean an accident how bad is it why are you calling me and not Pamela?" Danny asked frantically "all I can say is she is being transported to Houston Methodist and you might want to head over there we are currently investigating what caused the accident" the Officer responded. Danny immediately dropped the telephone and ordered his daughters to get their shoes on. Stephanie the middle child asked "what is going on did you say someone was in an accident was mommy in an accident daddy don't lie mommy said lying is bad" "I don't know it's probably nothing the police just have to let us know so we don't worry about mommy being late" Danny replied trying his hardest to keep his daughters calm and was as honest as he could be because he was truly praying that everything would be alright. Danny got all three girls into the vehicle and made the longest 15 minute drive he had ever taken in his life. "Why is this drive taking so long everyone is driving so damn slow" Danny never had a case of road rage, and this was concerning to his three daughters. Danny carrying his youngest daughter Michelle led the way to the emergency room at an Olympic sprinters pace. DJ looked at her father as they entered the waiting room tears beginning to build in her eyes and she asked her voice noticeably shaken "is Mommy ok?" Danny holding back tears of his couldn't think of any more words of hope but not wanting to crush the little bit his oldest may of had left simply said "I don't know". The wait for the dreaded news would not take that long they were only in the waiting room for no more than 30 minutes. The doctor entered the waiting room head down in defeat and all Danny could do was pray "please don't be looking for me, please don't be looking for me" he kept repeating to himself over and over again. "Mr. Tanner can we please talk in private" the doctor asked. Danny put up no fight and followed the doctor there were very few moments in his life where time stood still the birth of his daughters and the moment he was told he may kiss the bride this very moment would also be one of those moments. "I'm so sorry but your wife she didn't make it the injuries were just to severe we did our hardest to save her Mr. Tanner." Danny's mother made it to the hospital just as he was being delivered the soul crushing news. He immediately sat down emotionless almost unable to process what just happened to his once perfect life.
The service was beautiful and fitting of an angel who was taken well before the thought should have ever been considered. Danny's brother-in-law Jessie, who was also an aspiring rapper who had picked up some local buzz but was also fighting his own personal demons, had told a story about when he was back doing what he always used to do and how Pam picked him up got him a shower then drove him to rehab and wasn't taking no for an answer. Irene their mother spoke of the many times as a child she was always trying to help anyone who needed it. Danny was able to get thru the service without breaking down but it was evident to all that he was hurting very much. Jessie on the other hand was more masterful at hiding his emotions his sister had told him "I'd die before seeing you live like this you can do so much more." Her words had been haunting him on a nightly basis since that very night and guided him on his now flimsy sobriety. "The hell I'ma do" Jessie muttered under his breathe. Danny remained seated and Jessie took his nieces to give him some time alone "here lets give your dad some space for a minute." As left to give Danny his space a young man, who couldn't be more than 17, walked up to Danny. The boys parents were just standing there the mother told the father "I don't know why Joseph was so intent on coming to this funeral I'm just happy the family didn't mind." The boy seemed to show no emotion at all "it's almost as if he is studying every ones pain why is he even here" Jessie was wondering to himself loud enough for his niece DJ to hear. DJ looked at Jessie and said "oh mom never told you about him huh it's not like you would know him but she would talk to him at school all the time. I think she said he had Autism and it helps him out when he gets time to talk to someone just the two of them." Jessie then asked "OK miss teacher lady that explains why he is here why doesn't his parents seem to know that's why he wants to be here?" DJ then almost as if for that instance forgot the huge amount of pain she was forced to be put thru in child like manner shrugged her shoulders and said "IDK". The young man then approached Danny and put both of his thumbs to his temples imitating antlers and in a familiar voice said "I'm so sorry for your loss Pam was really nice."
