Chapter 32

Wednesday

I wake up to my eyes hurting and a blurry view that they're most likely red now. I don't know how long I cried but it felt like the whole night and Miles stayed with me the whole time. Even now he's holding me and I'm happy he stayed.

"You're awake" Miles rubs my arm with his thumb as I look up to him.

"I-I'm sorry" I clear my throat.

"I have to go" he doesn't look happy at leaving and I probably don't either.

"Why?" I pull him tighter.

"Your mom can catch us" he tries to smile but it doesn't last and I feel like crying again as my mouth quivers I look away. Miles takes my chin redirecting it to him "I'm not leaving you" he slowly plants a kiss on my forehead.

He lets it sit there for a minute before he wiggles out of my reach and leaves my bed. I sit up on my arm as I watch him put on his sweater and shoes.

He gives me one last look and leaves. I lay back on my bed not wanting this day to start, all I want is my bed and Miles but he's gone. I don't have the energy to do anything but put on an oversized hoodie that is probably Bella's because it says 'fml' and some tights that I was able to find.

I put on these big black sunglasses I rummaged for, picking my gym bag and regular bag and leave my room.

"OH MY GOD!" Bella says loudly while looking me over "should I be worried" she whispers "I mean you are wearing my sweater" she shrugs.

"I'm just not feeling today," I say while sitting and grabbing the cereal that Bella brought out. And I was enjoying it until Soph comes out and gasps.

"Why are there two Bellas?" she asks pointing to us both then lands on me "that has to be the real Bella"

"You guys are not funny" I keep my eyes on my cereal.

"Wow you're really pulling it off" Bella laughs and I roll my eyes.

"I have to go so bye guy's" Soph waves and walks to where mom walks in.

"Ah, dios mio did you do a body swap like the movie with the mother and daughter and that weird fortune cookie?" mom puts a hand over her mouth.

"I'm fine," I say to everyone "can I just eat in peace please" I look down at my cereal.

"Alright. I'll see you girls later" mom takes Soph's hand and leaves the house.

"What the fuck did you do" Bella laughs "and what was Miles doing in your bed?"

"It doesn't matter can we just go to school?" I ask and she nods.

"Fine but wait until Ava sees you" she laughs again.

"Who the fuck messed with Amara," Ava says angrily as she gets into the car.

"I told you" Bella whispers to me.

"It's my dad Ava I'm just not in the mood" I try to explain.

"And Miles slept over" Bella adds.

"Why thank you Bella, you're such a help," I say sarcastically.

"Why have I been left out of the loop" Ava pouts.

"Can we please talk about this later I want to get to school to meet Mr. Parker then we have track so please later. I promise I'll tell you" I beg.

"Ok but I swear anyone who hurts you has to deal with me" I nod over her exaggeration and we're off to school.

I have a meeting with Mr. Parker today about my assignment and to tell you the truth I've barely started it. I'm mostly scared because Mr. Parker promised me that once I gave this writing in he could get me into the writing program at the best University - thankfully his brother is a part of the faculty - which is honestly a great opportunity.
