A Guardian Rematch!

"Go for it rockruff! Use rock throw!" Ash yelled. Rockruffs tail wagged and it barked cutely before the ring of rocks glowed around its neck and multiple rocks appeared around it. The opponent's mudbray stood strong as rocks started firing towards it and at the last minute its trainer yelled out for it to use double kick.

Pikachu cried out a cheer for its friends on the sidelines with everyone. "Oh so close." Mallow said while watching the battle with focus. "Aww that's too bad. Rockruff was so close." Lana said, holding popplio in her arms. Kiawe looked at the battle with his arms crossed watching with extreme focus. "Rockruff is a rock type so it's not at a big advantage against a ground type." "Yeah well I don't see Ash having much of a disadvantage you know." Sophocles smirked as he looked at Kiawe with togedemaru on his head.

Willow smiled as she watched beside Kiawe with vulpix in her arms and absol by her side. "They look like they're having fun."

Ash looked over at his friends and smiled a little wider at seeing Willow watching. He waved quickly, chuckling a little at her shy little wave with a tiny blush to her cheeks before focusing back onto the battle. "Alright rockruff are you still able to continue?!" Rockruff looked back over at its trainer giving a small yip before looking at its opponent. "Alright then. Here goes!" Ash brought both hands forward and got into a z-move stance rockruff copying the same movement.

Both started glowing with a golden aura. Ash's z-ring started glowing and Ash finished out his move as strings of golden light shot (it put shit out as autocorrect! I'm dying lol) out from around Ash and collided with rockruff. "Alright and here's our z-move!" Rockruff barked before zooming straight at mudsdale at a breakneck speed. Mudsdale steadies itself in a bracing stance while Willow and Kiawe both look with no emotion on their faces.

Rockruff collided into mudbray and before they even knew it the battle was over. Dust flew up around the area and everyone waited with bated breaths.

It disappeared slowly and as it settled mudbray was seen over on the ground by its trainer with circles in its eyes. "Mudbray is unable to battle. Rockruff wins!" Professor Kukui stated as he judged the outcome of the battle. All the Pokémon around the others cheered at the outcome and Willow cheered as she ran up to Ash and congratulated him. Ash looked up at her coming towards him and blushed deeply as she hugged him after slamming into him whispering congratulations. Kiawe glared slightly with an unknown emotion in his eyes as Ash smiled with happiness.

The opponent went up to Ash as Willow backed out of the hug and shook Ash's hand "good battle! That was an awesome move!" Ash chuckled and thanked him. "Let's battle again sometime!" The opponent nodded before walking off. Ash turned to look back at Willow when Mallow and the rest of his friends walked up behind him. "Ash! That was amazing! That z-move was spectacular!" Mallow praised. Ash opened his mouth to answer when professor Kukui walked up "as a trainer and their Pokémon grow stronger, so does their z-move." "You really mean that?!"

Kukui nodded as he explained "a Pokémon draws strength using a z-move." Kiawe smiled at Kukui "that's why it's important that Ash gets stronger."

Ash grinned and looked at them all "yeah and once I get stronger you know who I'll battle?! Tapu koko, that's who!" Kukui laughed at Ash's enthusiasm "well that'll be a sight to behold."

You know I'm kind of jealous that he is ready to face any challenge even if it's the island guardian." Lillie smiled as she looked at Lana and Mallow. Willow leaned in and asked a question to Ash "why do you want to battle Tapu Koko so bad? I mean it's so strong, it's the island guardian." "It gave me a z-ring and I want to prove to it just how strong me and Pikachu can be."

"The bigger the goal the better the training." Kukui put in. Ash nodded before Mallow asked him a question. "So what kind of training will you do?" Everyone looked at Ash at that question. Ash opened his mouth before pausing and contemplated. "I'm not really sure." Lillie raised her hand hesitantly before imputing some information. "Well tapu koko is an electric fairy type. Why not go from there and figure out the best strategy from there?" Ash nodded. "Well I know just the guy to help you out! Me!" Ash jumped and looked at Sophocles with sparkles in his eyes. "You'd really help me to figure out how to defeat Tapu koko?!" Sophocles nodded "we'll just go to my house after school." "Alright!"
