Danielle

"Can you believe it Stef? We're having a boy!" I exclaimed as we walked into the house.
"Sì. A little bambino." She walked to the refrigerator and grabbed a water.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Nothing." She refused to make eye contact with me.
"Something's wrong. I can tell by the look on your face."
"Nothings wrong Danielle."
"Obviously something is because you've been short with me all day and-"

"Nothing is wrong Danielle! Will you shut up!" She slammed her hand down on the counter as she shouted at me.

I stared at her for a moment, then turned and walked out of the house.
"Fuck!" I heard her shout as I slammed the door.

I quickly made my way down the street, with tears rushing down my face and placed my hand on my belly.

I took my phone out of my pocket, and dialed Jaina's number.
"Yo, what's up D?" She answered.
"Can you come get me?" I sniffled out.

"What's wrong? Where are you?" I heard her keys jingle and her door shut.
"Down the street from my house."
"Okay. I'll be there in five."

We hung up, and I sat on the corner waiting for her.
Stefania kept calling me and messaging me, so I turned my phone on do not disturb.

Jaina pulled up a few minuets later, and I got in her car.
"What happened?" She asked as we drove off.
"We went to my doctors appointment and Stefania was acting weird all day. She didn't even seem excited about the baby. When we got home I kept pushing her and asking her what was wrong, and she yelled at me to shut up. So I left." I said with tears rolling down my face.

"Oh sweetie, I'm sure she didn't mean it. You know she would never hurt you." Jaina reached over and squeezed my hand.
"Yeah but that's how it started with Jackson. And I can't go through that again. I can't put my son through that."

"Wait, did you say son?" Jaina said as she parked her car in her driveway.
"Yes. I'm having a boy." I said with a small smile.
"Yes! Barrett owes me twenty dollars! I'm gonna have a sobrino!" She did a little happy dance in her seat.

"Don't tell anyone but Barrett yet. I don't even know what's going on right now." I said while we walked into her house.
"Hey D! How'd the appointment go?" Barrett asked from her spot on the couch.
"Apparently you owe Jaina twenty bucks." I said with a small laugh.
"Really? Oh my God! I'm so happy for you guys!" She walked over and gave me a hug.

"Do y'all care if I stay the night? Just until I figure everything out." I asked.
"Stay as long as you need to. You know we have your back."

Stefania

"Come on Danielle, pick up!" I groaned as her phone went to voicemail again.

I called Jaina, and she answered.
"Yeah?"
"Have you heard from Danielle? I accidentally shouted at her and she left and I can't get ahold of her and I don't know what to do because I'm freaking out and-"
"She's here Stefania. Calm down. She called me and I picked her up. She's fine. Just give her a little time and I'm sure she'll call you." She whispered.
"Okay. Okay. Thank you Jaina."

We hung up and I paced the room. How could I fuck up like that? I didn't mean to yell at her. I would never hurt her. She's the love of my life. I want to marry her one day.

I stopped pacing. Wait, did I just think that?
"I want to marry her?" I said out loud.

Danielle

"Dani! You hungry?" Jaina asked as I walked into the kitchen.
"Starving. This baby boy is always hungry." I said with a laugh.
"I'll order Chinese." Barrett said happily.
