" you're afraid aren't you? "
humans are simple minded. ryo was always aware of this, from the way they fawned over each other and got excited over trivial things such as the weather. he found it absolutely ridiculous. stupid. it was idiotic. but that one fated night where he walked the crowded streets, he saw through the window of a large manor, a boy. his eyes were filled with hope as he looked out the window at the falling snow, his breath fogged up the glass as a woman stood behind him constantly looking around them as if she was watching for someone.
in that moment he had fallen for the boy.
in demon years at the time he was about the same age as the small human, he slowly aged, watching how the boy who's eyes he once had seen, filled with hope had been taken away little by little. the screams that filled the manor made him furious. how could they hurt something so precious? humans really are stupid creatures. he wanted nothing more than to completely destroy every human who had ever hurt the boy, but he had orders to follow. and he would not be the one to upset his highness.
"akito."
that was the first time he had heard the name, he looked through the window seeing the boy, his cheeks tear stained, snot at the edge of his nose, marks littering his body, he looked terrible. it made his blood boil, how dare they touch what is his?! who do they think they are? a woman entered the room, the one he had seen on the first day. she smiled at the boy, picking him up and holding him close, she ran her fingers through his hair as he sobbed violently into her shoulder. he wasn't weak. ryo knew this. he had seen what the boy was forced to go through. he was anything but weak.
it was the day of the apocalypse. he had completed his long awaiting orders and was now wandering through the halls of the manor searching for the boy. they had a deal. no one was to touch the manor. he would destroy every part of it with his own hands for what was his. he would kill the man who caused it all along with the woman who let it happen. he was far to late for the maid who akito had treasured, but none of that mattered. "please! oh god help me! no! someone! stop it please!" they begged at his feet, humans were so pathetic. "you ruined what was mine, you crushed his poor soul. why? for your entertainment? then i'll do the same, and spread you across these walls for fun."
he walked out of the room fixing his glove, he heard feet shuffling, he was alright. he noticed how he stood on the tips of his toes to look out of the window, just like when he had first saw him. "hello." akito peered over his shoulder, "hi. who are you?" he was unbothered. "i am ryo. would you like to sign a contract with me?" he shrugged. "what about? mistress told me that uh. uh. that i have to ask her?" he chuckled bending down to pull the boy gently into his arms, "you're afraid aren't you?" akito nodded gripping his shoulders before letting out a sob, his legs became weak as he held onto ryo, it was like if he were to let go he would fall.
"come with me, dear. i will protect you and get revenge on those who ruined your life." he looked up, his eyes still laced with innocence and childish ways even though he was almost 9. "pinky promise?" he laughed and nodded holding up his hand interlocking their fingers, "pinky promise."
they had wandered the streets for less than a day before a group of people who ryo liked to called "ugly street rats." recruited them to a small group where they had built a civilization after the apocalypse, the few survivors. "stay with me akito, i do not want them to taint you." akito though ryo was amazing, he could alter the way he looked to appear older or younger despite being near to akito's age in demon years. ryo found it adorable how akito looked at him with stars in his eyes, he gripped onto his hand as he led the boy into the camp. "come and meet her excellency!" the lady exclaimed loudly as she opened the door to show, her. the one who would impact both of their lives forever.
but thats a story for another time.
akito groans softly as ryo rubs his thumb across his face to wake him up, "come now love, we have arrived." a lot of it akito doesn't remember, he is only aware of when he sits down into a chair, ryo standing next to him proud, guren is sat across the table next to other old men that gave akito the creeps, they were all powerful. more than anyone he had even know, well besides two others. he giggles softly at the thought which catches their attention. "enough stalling. what do you want from me." he puts on a spine chilling glare that makes ryo smirk, hes proud of him. "go on, spit it out you pathetic old men." guren winces at the comment.
but he stays silent, after all, akito knows what he is doing.
