It had already been about a month since the dorms were built. The last day she had collapsed in Aizawa's small hut, she had woken up to a gentle shake in the middle of the night. When she opened her eyes, she simply saw a signed piece of paper, noticing her aunt's signature. After a brief glance over the paper, she realized that she never had to return to that grimy excuse of an apartment. Seeing Mirio turned into a near-daily thing, which was something the girl was grateful for. However, now her sleep schedule was more and more mimicking her father-figure's. It was about midnight, maybe one in the morning. Time became unimportant to her- without her aunt constantly barging into the living room at ungodly hours of the morning getting ready for work.
Aka wasn't allowed to attend normal classes like other teenagers her age. Her interactions with other people needed to be limited. She was rarely allowed off of campus- before having completely moved in with Aizawa, her freedom was limited to the trolley that took her to and from the destinations. In her current situation, she found herself sprawled out on her bed, textbooks spread out opened in front of her. Preferring to do most of her learning at night- when Aizawa was around to help her- left her day schedule utterly empty. Curing boredom was her biggest problem- it often involved spending hours a day on the technology in the house until her head began to hurt. Some days, if she was awake early enough, she'd sneak to the window to watch the students in her would-be class leave the dorms. Watching them interact was like watching a movie. She had always wanted friends- especially in the way she watched the messy-haired boy and his two friends chat on their way to the main school building.
Making friends turned into a sort of obversion for her. But she wasn't allowed outside Mirio. Her presence needed to be hidden from people her age. For both their safety and hers. She never understood why Mirio was the exception. If she showed she could hold her own near him, why didn't that mean she could be around other people? And maybe even attend school like a normal teenager?
Aizawa always brushed aside the question. It wasn't like Aka knew nobody outside of him- occasionally the other pro heroes that worked around the school would visit her to keep her company if they weren't teaching a class. Her favorite was Midnight. She admired her beauty, especially considering her admirers came from her skill and true beauty, not some random incense she couldn't control. Midnight was always passionate when she talked, and it helped having someone she could go to with "girl problems," not that she truly had any outside of wondering how to tame her unruly hair most days.
But that was the problem, in a way. Aka wanted the girl problems. The heartbreak, the drama, the stress from school. But no matter how much she wanted it, unfortunately it seemed that was one request she couldn't have fulfilled.
While pondering in thought, an alarming noise went off through the cabin-like house. Now completely attentive having being pulled out of her state of mind, the toned girl sat up in her bed, looking towards her doorway. She began shuffling to move towards it, but a presence was soon found in the previously empty space.
"An incident occurred. I'll be back in a few minutes hopefully," Aizawa said begrudgingly. He was definitely annoyed by what the cause of the alarm was, but not enough concerned to pull his hair out of its secure bun or get into his hero costume. That told her it was a student case. Curiosity got the better of the teen.
"What's going on?" she felt bold enough to ask. Aizawa let out an annoyed huff and shook his head, leaving the doorway to head to the only exit of the house.
"Nothing important, just stay inside, you know the rules," he scolded. Aka bit her lip in order to avoid a snarky remark, something she rarely had the motivation to do. But even at this slightest annoyance, she noticed her palms glowing a soft orange color. Growling to herself only made the glow burn brighter, slightly fading into a more reddish tone.
