Chapter 7

"Hey you good?" said AB, who noticed her. she just put her head down on the table and didn't rply. "Shree!" everyone gasped. 

Shreeja P.O.V

I tried to open my eyes, but it was too bright. as my eyesight adjusted. i saw Anushka, Virat bhai, AB, Yuzi, Devdutt, and the team Doc looking at me worried yet angrily. i was very confused, and had soo many questions firstly what happened, why is everyone looking at me like that, and where am i? my trans was broken when the Anushka asked me, " hey how do you feel now?". 

Shree: i m fine i guess, just a little light headed. but what happened? and where am i ?

AB: You fainted!! , we all got worried, so Dev picked you up and we got you here to Dev's room cuz it was the closest.

when AB said that i looked at Devdutt we had an eye lock  his eyes had so many emotions i couldn't read them. and then i was looking around.

Virat: doc is everything fine? (asked the doc making me look at them)

Doc: yes nothing major but, shreeja what was the last meal you had?

 i knew what was coming so, i meekly answered 

Shreeja: coffee and protein bar

Doc: breakfast and lunch?

i just shook my head negatively. And then their was silence and it was broken by Anushka and she was definitely angry.

Anushka: Shree why are you so careless, why dint you eat anything, you know what's happening in the world and how important it is to take care of your health and what will happen if i tell this to you mumma? she will get so worried. is this the way to act ?(i was legit feeling like i was at home and mumma was scolding me for not taking care of my self. I didnot feel bad to be honest it kind of made we feel very homely, i know i m mad...  the scolding went on for i dont even know how much time and i dint even had the guts to look at all of them. ) 

Doc: ok calm down everybody we have match coming up and we don't want any other emergency okk . Shreeja now have a good meal, keep it simple for today ok and you will be fine. take care i will take a leave.

everyone gave me strict instructions, Virat bhai even ordered salad and plain khichdi for me. at that time  Virat bhai got a call from coach so he and AB had to go to meet him, yuzi bhai also had some work and Anushka also needed to take rest. before leaving they asked me if i need help to get to my room ..before i could answer the person who was silent the whole time spoke 

Devdutt: Bhai don't worry, i will help her to her room after she has her dinner, you guys carry on.

everyone was looking at him. 

Virat: you sure?

Devdutt: yes bhai, i mean... if you have no problem with it.(and looked at me)

Shreeja:(just smiled) ya its fine. i m sorry and thank you for everything guys(said to everyone)

they smiled and told me to take care and left the room. then the dinner came and we had our dinner silently just a few glances and smiles. i couldn't help but notice how cute he looked when he was soo concentrated on his food. but he suddenly looked back up and i got startled and decided not to stare at him like a creep. but i think i heard him chuckle. after dinner i was having water and i was feeling a strong gaze from behind. so i turned to find devdutt looking at me. i just smiled and said

Shreeja: i think i should leave.. you have match tomorrow, you need rest and...

before i could say anything devdutt cut me off

Devdutt: you also need rest and i m dropping you to your room come...(and started moving to the door) 

Shreeja: (nervously) i mean you really don't need to i m just in the next room

Devdutt: (genuinely smiled)

Shreeja(in mind): he has such a perfect smile ( i mentally slapped my self) concentrate shree

Devdutt: you are not well and i also promised everyone, and i like to keep my promises so come.

Shreeja: (meekly) okk

We moved out of the room. i suddenly remember about my stuff .i.e. camera, mobile, and other things. when i was in these thoughts devdutt spoke

Devdutt: your things are kept in your room don't stress about it.

i just look at him with a shocked expressions

Devdutt: what?

Shreeja: how 

Devdutt: how what?

Shreeja: how did you know i was thinking about that.

he just shrugged.

Devdutt: here you go, your room. good night and take rest, tomorrow we have a long day

Shreeja: ya i will, you also take rest goodnight.

We were just standing out side my room for i don't know how long just looking in each others eyes in not an awkward silence it was quiet a comforting one. until he broke the silence 

Devdutt: ok then i will take a leave 

he turned to go back to his room 

Shreeja: Devdutt

he turned back to look at me

Devdutt: ya?

Shreeja: actually...umm.. thank you for helping me it really means a lot ..i mean we have never actually talked and still you helped me get back to hotel and everything else.

Devdutt: my pleasure. and anyways you are part of the RCB family, and we always help each other.. and anyways you make us look good on internet so i mean i need to be in  your good books.

he said the first part with a very genuine smile and the latter part with a very notorious smirk. we just looked and each other for a second and both started laughing.

Devdutt: so now that you laughed..friends? 

and brought his hand in front for me to shake it

Shreeja: sure friends (and shook hands) .. so goodnight new friend and all the best for tomorrow's IPL debut

Devdutt: thank you so much new friend and all the best to you too its your debut too and good night, take care.

End of Shreej's p.o.v:

Both of them turned to go back to their rooms with a smile that was not leaving both of their faces. tomorrow was going to be a very important day for both of them one was going to debut as a player while the other one was also debuting it her field.... both were nervous and excited. they kept staring into nowhere until sleep took over them.
