The guards woke me up and brought me to the kitchen. They asked me to cook breakfast for the king and the prince. I opened the shelves to check for the ingredients. I decided to make some pancakes.
I took some eggs, flour, milk, and sugar. I carried the heavy bag of flour, and I poured some into the bowl. Then I poured some milk, but some of it spilled to the floor. Next, I grabbed some eggs and mixed all the ingredients. After that, I carried the bowl to the stove and...
I slipped, the bowl flew out of my arms, and landed on Beomgyu. He froze on his spot. I immediately grabbed a napkin and tried to wipe it off his face, but he stopped me and took the napkin from my hand.
"You can't even cook properly.
"Sorry,'' I apologized.
"How do you keep yourself alive all these years, if you can't even cook? " he sighs.
"Why don't you cook your own breakfast," I mumbled, but he heard what I said.
"I'm telling dad"
I ended up sweeping the floor, which took me a long time. Then the king sent me to the village to buy some things and help the other villages. The only thing left to do is to help the villagers. I followed the map and it led me to a small pink cottage.
I knocked on the door and an old lady greeted me. She looks friendly and sweet, she even gave me cookies. There were also other villagers. I went to sit with them near them and they gave me a piece of fabric, a string, and a needle. I looked at them confused.
"What are you waiting for?" she asked "start sewing, they are not going to sew themselves.
I cut a piece of string and tried to insert it into the tiny hole of the needle. I kept on trying and trying. This is going to take ages. The others were almost done with theirs and I haven't even started. The Old lady looked me dead in the eye and said "kids these days."
Now I wish that I had made a story that was in the modern times instead. I miss the internet. I want my phone back. The only thing so far that kept me entertained was the 2 ducks in the castle's garden fighting for a piece of bread and pushing each other into the pond.
The sky was getting darker, I came back to the castle and the guards led me to the hall. The king and Beomgyu were sitting on the throne. Beomgyu looked at me and stuck his tongue out.
I glared back at him. "You said that you were from here?" he asked
"Yes"
"You also said that you stayed at home most of the time."
"yes"
"You do know that you'll get executed if we found out that all the things you just said were not true, right?"
"Yes," I said nervously.
"Where are your parents?"
"I'm an orphan," I said, hoping that he'd believe it.
"Can't we just throw her out of our place? This is taking too long." Beomgyu said impatiently.
"We can't just do that, we need to have proof." The King said.
I should say something, but what excuses can I make up? If I tell them the truth, they'd probably think I'm crazy. One day a girl appeared out of nowhere, who would believe that? Beomgyu did not believe a single thing I said and I'd probably feel the same if I were him.
Beomgyu POV
What if she snuck through the fence. Or maybe she is a spy? What if she is planning to do something to us? I'm not going to let it happen again. After an hour of listening to her, my dad told the guards to bring her to her new room. He decided that she should sleep somewhere better.
"Why can't you just get rid of her now? I asked.
