I wiped the oil of my hands as I laid on the creeper under a car. My cousin wake rolled on his creeper under and next to me.
"What's going on under here?" He asked.
"I don't know everything seems to be fine down here but it still won't start I'm just going to check the engine again" I said rolling my self out of under the car. I stood up and he followed. I checked the engine. I laughed at myself when I saw I could of easily fixed this car an hour ago. My cousin gave me a weird look.
"The battery wires aren't connected" I said. We both laughed and he walked away as I reconnected them. I worked at my dad's car shop with all my cousins yeah we got paid but not that much were family you don't do it for the money. I just graduated high school and I'm going to college courses in town. I went to start the car and it started perfectly. I sighed happy that I can now move on to my next car. I pulled my dark chocolate brown hair in a messy bun revealing the caramel highlights more. I hopped out and put my rag in the back pocket of my jeans and I fixed my black 'Kless Boys' shirt that was now all misplaced from rolling around on the creeper. I bent down and tied my shoe lace to my red converse that had now became loose. I walked through the workers and cars to the hallway to go into my dad's office.
"Dad I fixed Grangers ne-" I started to say but cut myself off as I walked through the door. I noticed he was with customers. I saw an older woman with a girl I assumed was her daughter who looked a bit older than me and a boy that looked my age. He had beautiful brown eyes and his hair brushed up in a quiff.
"Sorry dad I didn't realize you were with customers right now" I said apologizing. He just smiled and stood up.
"It's okay Ashley these are the Dallas's I would like you to met them" he said. I smiled and waved.
"I would shake your hands but" I said looking at my filthy hands. They just laughed and I grabbed my rag trying to wipe then off more.
"It's okay maybe another time I'm Gina and these are my kids Sierra and Cameron" she said. I smiled at them.
"It's nice to meet you but I should be getting back to work" I said. They nodded and I turned to my dad.
"I just finished Granger's car the battery wires disconnected and I'm about to take it out for a test drive" I said. He nodded and I walked back out into the shop. I went over to the car. My cousin Wake came back up to me.
"Dude I think that kid was into you" he said. I just gave him a weird look.
"I was in the waiting room I looked at you guys through your dad's fish tank window thing and I saw how he was looking at you" he said smirking. I just laughed.
"Wake could you take this out for a test drive I want to get started on another car I already wasted half my day on this" I said patting the hood. He nodded and I gave him the keys. I walked over to my cousin Ellsa who was under a car that sat in the lift. Her dad was with her helping her out. She was working on my next appointment because off that stupid car.
"Here I will help her from here" I said to my uncle. He nodded and I took his place.
"Wake is already spreading things about that guy in the waiting room" she said still concentrating. I laughed.
"He is such a loser" I said. She laughed.
"Tonight is dinner at your place right?" She asked.
"Yup can't wait tonight we have to beat Trevor in Just Dance I'm sick of him and Wake beating us" I said.
"Sorry I can't help I just got the moves" Trevor said walking by. We just laughed as he made his way back over to his work station. We all got quiet for a second and then we heard 'Freak' come on the radio. It's an oldie but a goodie. I ran and turned it up and we danced around taking a small break and enjoying our song. I stopped a bit and my Uncle Tony pulled out a car revealing the window that looks into my moms office. I saw that kid Cam there smiling at us. I gave a small wave and smiled at him. He was about to wave back but my cousin Wake picked me up.
