Today was just not his day. He had done everything perfect, from his blocking technique, to calling the ball before he dunked it in front of all those other players. So how did they loose, was it when he slipped up that one time, or when he hurt his hand?

Tsukishima was so mad at himself that he even took it out on his best friend, Yamaguchi, and his girlfriend, who had so desperately tried to make him feel better about the whole thing. He reminded himself that if he had just kept his eye on the ball, they would've got that point.

"God damnit Tadashi could you just shut up and stop trying to console me every five minutes?! Can you not treat me like I'm a fragile fucking kid?" Tsukishima watched as Yamaguchi shriveled back, staring at the ground. "I-I'm sorry Tsuki, I didn't mean to make you feel that way."

It wasn't long until his girlfriend stepped in. "Tsuki calm down, Yamaguchi didn't do anything." The blonde glared at her and scoffed. "If your so worried for him then why don't you screw him instead, maybe you'd be happier and wouldn't complain as much." She gasped as everyone froze. Soon, the echoing sound of a slap filled everyone's ears.

"You are a selfish and cruel man Tsukishima Kei. I hope your life ends in the most miserable way possible." With that she walked away, the rest of the team slowly following behind her. Yamaguchi was the last to leave, sparing Tsukishima one last glance. Tsukishima just stood there, frozen and mad, unable to get over himself. This really sucked.

Tsukishima replayed the moment in his head over and over, like a never ending horror film. He regretted what he said, and he felt terrible, but his pride got the best of him. He wasn't going to text her, hell, as far as he was concerned, it was over. But he had to say something to Yamaguchi.

Clicking on his contacts, he scrolls down till he sees the familiar contact name. Clicking on it he listened to the ring about three times before there was an answer. "Hello?"

"Gomen, Tadashi."

"W-what? It's fine Tsuki, you were mad."

Tsukishima rolled his eyes, scoffing a little. He looked ahead as he made his way down the sidewalk, nearing a crosswalk. "No, I shouldn't have taken my anger out on you. I'm sorry Tadashi. I really am."

Yamaguchi smiled a little at the sound of his best friend apologizing, something that was rare for him to do. "Don't worry about it Tsuki, I'm fine. I know you didn't mean it."

Tsukishima sighed, the guilt bubbling into his throat. "I'm the worst, you haven't been anything but nice to me and I treat you like shit."

"Tsuki I said I was fine. Trust me, I'm A okay."

Tsukishima was about to say something when the loud honking of a truck caught his attention, his eyes widening in horror as the large vehicle came speeding his way.

He couldn't react fast enough before his body flushed against the front of the truck before being zipped up under it, blood painting the streets as he was dragged across the pavement, skin tearing and his bones cracking and bending ways they shouldn't. His lungs collapsed under the pressure as a rib punctured through his chest.

People screamed at the sight of the horrific scene as Yamaguchi screamed through the phone, tears pricking his eyes as he prayed that his friend was okay.

The terrifying feeling of dread ripped through his body as the call failed, making him fall to his knees on his front porch, where he had stepped out to receive the call. The glass doors of his home slid open as his mother rushed out to see what was wrong, bringing her son into an embrace as he wailed.

Akiteru hummed in confusion as he paused the movie him and his mom were watching to answer the house phone, his mother turning to see what was going on. Akiteru smiled at her as he answered the phone, cheerfully speaking.

"Tsukishima residence, how can I help you."

There was a long pause before the phone slipped from the blonde males hand, shock and grief filling his features as his knees hit the ground, making his mother stand quickly and pick up the phone from the floor. "Hello? What's happening?"

"Ms. Tsukishima? This is officer Yui speaking. I hate to inform you, but your son has been in an accident. He was hit by a truck being drove by a drunk driver. He was killed instantly."

The phone dropped once again as she screamed out in pain, tears falling from her eyes as she and Akiteru embraced. "No! No! My baby! My baby boy! Please no!" She sobbed as she gripped her eldest sons shirt.

She had just seen him this morning, alive and well. Quietly eating breakfast before preparing for his game. He had just hugged her goodbye this morning, and shot his brother a small glare before bidding goodbye and leaving. He just texted her not to long ago that he was on his way home and that he would help with dinner.

How could this happen, how could he be taken away so quickly? How could someone be so reckless and take another persons life? Why did it have to be his life?

Dread filled the Tsukishima household for the next few months. A month after the accident, a funeral service was held, closed casket due to his body being basically in shreds. The whole volleyball team was there, including some of the team members from Nekoma and Aoba Johsai. Yamaguchi stood there in silence as people came to give their condolences. His eyes flickering to the door every now and then.

Someone caught his eye as they entered, holding a blank face and a single white rose. Yamaguchi felt the rage and grief bubble in his stomach as he saw her face. "You bitch!" Akiteru turned to see the green haired male pointed his finger towards a girl who stood there shocked. Tears streamed down the boys face as he continued speaking.

"You did this! You wished this upon him! If you haven't said all that stuff to him he would still be here!" Daichi and Sugawara held Yamaguchi back as the girl stood their and said nothing. "Why are you even here?! Huh?! It's not like you cared for him! You just wanted to be popular!"

Everyone now had their eyes on the girl, watching as she ignored the boy and walked towards the closed casket, placing the rose on top. The silence was cut as she whispered low enough for her voice to be heard by his mother.

"I hope you reincarnated into a nice place, somewhere where you will never have to be bitter again."

With that she left, leaving behind the broken boy, the devastated mom, the numb brother, and the grieving volley ball team.

A month ago today, Tsukishima Kei, middle blocker of the Karasuno volleyball team, son of Yukie Tsukishima, brother of Akiteru Tsukishima, had been in a car accident and died.

Then reincarnated into the life of a faithful knight.
