Dying was the most painful experience yet. Tsukishima could remember everything that happened before he died and reincarnated.  He remembered the pain, the fear, the sadness.  It was strange when he reincarnated, because he found himself in another time, being the second born son to a traveling seamstress who was looking to settle down.

The only thing that didn't change was his family. His mother was still Yukie and his brother was still Akiteru. They had a small wagon that Yukie drove while Akiteru rested in the back holding Tsukishima and watching the supplies.

In this new land there were strange creatures, half lion half bird creatures. Little people with wings that danced around him with his mother slept. Elk that were pure white with vines and flowers growing from their horns.

Tsukishima often spotted strange mist like creatures, creatures that made his brother and mother hide. He saw beautiful people that had pointed ears. He saw people in streams and lakes with golden tails or webbed feet and hands. There were giant bolder like men who stood at bridges, taking tolls from travelers, and dwarf like people who would come and play tricks on his mother and brother.

One day, while Yukie was inside the wagon with the doors shut and the drapes drawn, Akiteru gave his mother a sad glance. "Momma, Kei won't react to anything I do. It's like he has no emotions." The blonde boy pouted looking down at his baby brother. Yukie smiled softly as she dished out some rice, glancing down at her baby. "Akiteru, Kei is a blank child. He is going to do great things and show great strength. You will be artistic and kind. Everyone has a personality that fits their future role. He may not react, but deep down he is laughing and smiling."

Tsukishima stared up at his mother as she spoke to his brother, soaking up her words.

'Me? Doing something great? I highly doubt that.'

Time slipped by and eventually Tsukishima had turned two. He was placed outside on a blanket while his mother and brother had set up camp for the night, leaving him to glance around. He wasn't able to do much due to being a baby still, he could stumble around on his feet and say little words, but he preferred not to right now. As he glanced around his amber eyes caught ahold of a dark figure looming in the trees. It's was tall and broad, taking the shape of a wolf. It's glowing red eyes had stared into his as it lurked forward, slowly approaching him.

Tsukishima knew he should be scared of the creature, after all his mother had made it very clear that they weren't to be messed with. But this creature didn't show harm, more so interest. Tsukishima was intrigued to say the least as the wolf like creature nuzzled its snout against him. A laugh passed through his lips as he almost fell over, his small hands tugging on the black tuffs of fur.

Yukie hummed to herself as she bundled the firewood in her arms, making her way over towards her baby so that she could make a fire. She happily walked towards her bundle of joy, expecting him to be there, sitting stoic faced and silent. What she was met with, though, made her gasp loudly and drop the firewood in her arms. Akiteru followed behind his mother, stopping and gawking at the sight.

There lay little baby Kei curled onto the fur of a gaint mist wolf, both sleeping peacefully. The wolfs head lifted and made eye contact with the mother and son standing not far from her. A low rumble left her chest as she heaved a sigh and laid her head back down on the blanket. Tsukishima cooed in his sleep as his mother watched his hands grip the fur of the wolf. She warily stepped forwards, hoping to grab her baby from the giant beast. But the baby only snuggled closer into the beast, making his mother whimper in frustration.
