Moving to a whole new town isn't easy, especially when I left my whole life behind. My mother and little sister begged me not to go but I'm 19, I can't live with mommy and daddy forever! I had to make a life for myself sooner or later and I chose sooner.

My dad was fully on board. Sure, he was sad to see his little girl go, but he knew I wasn't a little girl anymore no matter how much he didn't want to believe it.

The move wasn't all that bad except that I had to drive across the country, but besides that it was so bad! I got to see some really cool places and listen to 12 full Nirvana albums. My car was pretty big so it wasn't too hard get everything there and anything that couldn't fit my parents were mailing to my new apartment.

I didn't even mention where I'm moving to. I'm gonna live out my dream of being a Broadway baby, living in New York. I took a long time to find a place to stay but, after calling around a bit, I found an apartment where another girl was living and she was looking a roommate. I had only ever talked her on the phone and she sounded nice. Her name's Elisa. Elisa Cronkite.

Pulling into the parking garage, I looked for a place near the floor where the apartment resided to park my car. Once I had found a good parking spot I grabbed a few duffel bags that were full of things like clothes, shoes, undergarments, accessories, etc. I walked to the stairs and thank goodness I found a good spot because I only had to climb one flight of stairs.

"374, 374, 374..." I kept repeating the apartment number in my head until I finally saw the golden numbers on a green door. I put some bags down to knock on the hard wood door. My knuckles hesitantly hit the wood as so many thought went through my head.
'You can still go back home. Driving is free. If this city doesn't work for you, you can just go home. Because this city might never feel like or be home for you...'

Just as I thought about turning back, putting my bags in the car, and going back to California, the door opens. The girl who answered the door was just... wow. She had the prettiest blonde curls, gorgeous brown eyes, a beautiful body, and a stunning smile.
"Hi! You must be y/n? I'm Elisa, your new roommate." She held out her hand for me to shake but, like an absolute IDIOT, I just stood a stared at it with my eye flickering between her hand and her face.
'What the hell are you doing? Shake her hand, you weirdo!'
I quickly put my hand in hers and smiled awkwardly. We both quickly pulled our hands away and kinda just stood there in an awkward silence.
"Do you want any help with those?" She point to my bags I had put on the floor.
"Oh! No I can get them."
"No, really! I insist!" Elisa leaned down and picked up the two bags that previously sat on the dirty hallway carpet. I thanked her and picked up the other two on the floor. Elisa stepped aside for me to step into the doorway.
"Wow, this place is pretty big." I said taking a quick look around.
"Yeah. Two bedrooms, three bathrooms, full kitchen, and a big ass living room. It got kinda lonely after awhile so I'm glad you're here now." Elisa smiled and so did I.

Elisa's POV

Wow, this girl was something else. She was so shy and it was absolutely adorable. She was a bit shorter than me which made her ten times as cute and she sounds so much more sexy in real life than she did over the phone.

Recently I had been questioning my sexuality and I am coming to terms with the fact that I like women. I mean, can you blame me? The way that their bodies curve, the way that they smile, and when they giggle at the smallest things. What's not to adore?

"Your room is gonna be that one by the window. I didn't get a chance to get a mattress in there so you might just have to sleep on the couch or with me tonight." Y/n tensed when I mentioned sleeping with me. I mean, not in 'that' way but... ya know.

"I think I'll just sleep on the couch. I kick in my sleep a lot, so..." She said awkwardly.
"Oh! That's ok, umm... you wanna go put those bags in there and then get food?" I nudged her shoulder. A small giggle came from her lips and a smile grew.
"I'd like that."
