It was a hot day as the first day of summer of 2009 started ☀️🔥 as lil Zel walks gets off the school bus and walks on the sidewalk home but sees his friend nick on the corner with some grown men selling drugs.

"It's the last day and i haven't seen you at school for a few months what's wrong bro", lil zel questions
"Fuck school I'm tryna get to that money nigga", nick says as he pull out a wad of cash from his jacket pocket and shows lil zel
"Damn so you sellin that stuff too now", lil zel said with disappointment
"Hell yea you need to stop bullshitting and get down with the game too lil zel"
"Nah I'm cool but imma mess with you later bro", lil zel says as he shakes nick's hand walks away

(Apartment complex) 🔝
Lil zel makes it to his apartment complex and walks through his apartment front door and sees his mom in the kitchen cooking.
"Hey ma", lil zel says
"Oh hey baby, how was your last day of school?", ja'kara questions
"Good", lil zel says as he walks over and sits down at the dinner table
"That's good because I need to talk to you", ja'kara says as she brings lil zel a glass of water and sit down at the dinner table
"About what🤨?" Lil zel questions as he drinks his water
"About what you're gonna do this summer, you're growing up and I know you see a lot of your friends going down the wrong path😔and I don't want you throw your life away at young age like your father", she said
"I'm nothing like my pops ma🙄"
"Lil zel just listen the streets is only gonna have you end up 2 ways a casket⚰️ or a cell ⛓and I rather die than to see you in either one of those things"
"Don't worry ma I'm not gon let you down", lil zel says as he gets up and kisses his mom on the cheek And walks to his room.
The next morning Lil zel woke up and got dressed in his hooping clothes and was headed out the door
"Ight ma I'm bout to head down to the basketball court🏀", Lil zel said
But baby I was bout to take your little brother and sister down to the pool you don't wanna come?, Ja'kara said
"Nah I don't even like swimming like dat", he said
"Well alright make sure your home before the street light come on", she said
