I briskly ran out of the house that morning. I ran out to the bus which was waiting for me at the stop 50 yards from my house. I herd one girl whisper to her friend sitting next to her, "Thats the girl who always crys". Those words hurt, despite the fact that the comment was true. On the bus I sat in the back. I watched all the smiling children all the people had a good life. Who didn't cry daily, who weren't like me. The bus rumbled down the small road to my school.
My school is called Middlebrook Intermediate School. It is a small, yet large. Most of the campus is either brick buildings or white painted buildings. I slowly walked to my locker where my friend Rebecca giving me jazz hands. "Hey Rey!" She very enthusiastically squealed. "Hi Becca" I said in a voice between a wisper.
"Whats up with you?" She had a look of high question on her face.
I did not need to answer. Realisation spread across her face.
"Come here Ray" she slid her arms around me in a tight hug.
"Would a snadoodler help?"
"Maybe" I said in a melancholy tone. Snadoodlers were what we called snickerdoodles when we were little. We had been best friends since we were five. The first day of kindergarten we both stared at each other and smiled. We are as close as you can get.
Two days after my grandpa died and after, with much persuasion I finally left my room. She came over and didn't leave my side for a week along with my other best friend Adela, who was on vacation with her parents. The lucky duck was in Paris for a week with her mom.
As I was being nearly squeezed to death Becca. The first bell rang.
"Bye Bec" I said giving her one last squeeze.
"See ya third period Rey" she said squeezing me back.
"Double, triple of the tribe" we both wispered in unison while fist-bumping so that our matching rings with the simple heart that we had all gotten fpr Christmas when we were six and then doing that hip-bumping thing. That was our secret handshake. It worked much better with three people, but without Adela it was akward. With that last goodbye I skedaddled to first period, history.
