A Long Kiss

"Hi! do you like that?" A sales lady appear in front of Meggi to assist her. She thinks the girl is on it's mid 20, black hair and golden brown skin. Short in height and she thinks the girl is only 5"2.

"Yeah, but I don't think it fits me." Meggi answers doubtedly. She likes the little black dress and she thinks the style suits her age. Not too girly and it compliments her white skin. But there's something missing with the dress.

The sales lady gets the dress and place in front of Meggi. The former shuffle Meggi's hair to have volume and let it flow over the dress.

"This looks good on you. You look beautiful. You're boyfriend will be amazed. By the way, I'm Din."

"Din as in Dina or school's Dean." a corny joke but make both of ladies giggle.

Din continue fixing the dress while Meggi pose in front of the human size mirror. Then someone intrude the ladies happy moment.

"I don't think it suits her. Her looks is mediocre. That dress is for those who can afford." It's the other sales lady from the store which Meggi thinks same age as Din, commented with sarcasm.

The look on Din's face saddened and it adds on her fury. After seeing the sad face of the kind lady she whispers, "Don't worry. I'll buy this for your sake."

But the girl pulls Meggi's hand and they went on the corner of the fitting area, far from the sarcastic sales lady.

"You don't have to. Don't waste your money here. Even the owner is not nice," the girl whisper trying to warn her.

"How about you? You need sales. And as far as I'm concern you'll get fired if..."

"Oh, don't mind me," Din cut her, "I already submit my resignation. Besides, the owner can't wait for me to finish my render. They thought, I don't belong in this boutique, because I'm not good-looking which is not a help for their sales." Continue whispering which made her eyes grew bigger.

"That is racism. Then, how you get in here?" Meggi asked with confusion.

"The boyfriend's owner felt indebtness towards my uncle who saved his life. And before my uncle went back in our country, he asked the boyfriend to help me get a job, even a temporary one."

She felt sympathy to the girl. Why there are racist people.

"Where are you going then?" Curiousity hits Meggi.

"I already got a job in a farm waiting for me. Free meal, lodging and vitamin A- pple everyday." She chuckles. "I would do apple picking this season. Afterwards, I'm looking forward to have my truck to deliver organics to dry market. Imagine, my own truck as what the owner promise."

"That's a nice job. But don't you think it's a hard labor under the sun?"

"That's fine. I'm used to hard labor anyway."

Then she made her look at the mirror. "This dress looks good on you. You look like a model. Your body is slim. I wish I have that body. Your alabaster skin and blonde hair reminds me of the special woman I know."

Meggi blush at the younger lady's confession, but she also felt a sudden sadness hearing it.
"A-are you two together?" shy, but she can't ignore this. She wants to know.

"Oh, no! We can't be together!" The girl laugh.

But the older woman is eager to know... something. "Why not? You look - charming." and Meggi mean it.

"I can't be with Cate Blanchett."

A sudden shock strike her face but after that, they both laugh hard.

"I'm sorry, I didn't... whatever." The blonde girl smile. "But your skin is good. I like brown skin. And I wish I have some fats, too."

"Oh, no you don't want to. You're gonna see this lump all over your body, vibrating while walking." The ladies giggle and went back to pile of dress.

Meggi left the store with a smile while driving.

Fuck! I forgot to ask her number. I can't go back. I'm too far from the store.

She decided to come back next week, and that the brown skin girl might still in the store, thinking that rendering resignation would take a month.

She felt something with the brown girl, a welcome and warm feeling.

Like home.

Not sure what it is. Finalizing a thought to come back to that store.

"What are you doing here?!" acting to hug Meggi but stop. "Oops, I'm sorry." Brown girl sniffed her underarm. "I stink."

The blonde woman don't ctually care, because she wanted to hug her, too. She missed her. But she already turned her back to carry one of apple crates.

Never a day she forgot to think of this girl when she get back in the boutique a couple of weeks after that incident. She discover that she's no longer there.

But now, she's in front of her. She won't let it pass again. Besides, she's not getting any younger and she really feel something about this girl. Something serious.

"That's heavy. Why don't you ask men to carry those." worried flash on her face.

" Ow c'mon. These are small boxes. I can manage." Carrying 2 boxes at the back.

She can't stop staring at the short girl. Seeing her arms, formed small muscles in just few months. Those boxes are still heavy even if it's smaller than regular.

"Hey! I'm planning to have a dinner with my siblings. They'll bring some close friends. Would you like to come with me?
It's on Friday. I hope you can take a day off."

"Oh... yeah, uhmm."

"Please?" Meggi beg with a puppy eyes.

"Oh! Not that eyes... hahahaha! Okay, okay. Yes"
both smiling.

"That's great!" Meggi exclaimed. Almost giving the brown girl a hug, but it crossed it's arms in front. "Oh, I'm sorry. Yeah, you stink. Alright. Friday evening? At 7? I'll give you a ride."

"Yes." While staring at her. And that's it, exchanging their numbers.

But before she turns her back at the younger lady...

"Why me? Uhm, we just met once. I mean twice, including today. Besides, we hardly know each other. We accidentally bumped today." scratching it's forehead.

Meggi walk closer to Din closing their gap and give a kiss. A kiss that goes deeper and deeper and last long. Not caring to the people around them.

After that long kiss.

"I'm looking forward to know you better, Din." Seductively whispered. "Starting today."

The blonde girl walk back to where her car parked with a big smile leaving the brown girl with joy and glooming eyes.
