"I think it's time for us to get out of here."

The lovers stood in the middle of the streets, stunned and perplexed by what was going on.

Applejack was well aware that being outside was dangerous. So, in order to keep the two of them safe, Applejack told her fiance, "Rares, get inside the car."

Rarity did as she was told. The couple got into their car.

"Applejack, I don't like what's going on right now," Rarity expressed her concern. Applejack put her hands on her fiance's shoulder to soothe her.

"Don't worry, everything will be fine."

Applejack's phone rang unexpectedly. She took it out of her bag and looked at her screen, where she saw her sister, Sunset Shimmer, calling her.

Applejack picked up the phone.

"Where are you!?" yelled Sunset from the other end of the phone. Applejack groaned in response to her sister's yell.

"I'm with Rarity inside the car," Applejack explained.

Sunset began, "OK, listen to me: you two need to go home right now." "At the lab where Twilight works, there's a worker who had an accident with the experiment they're doing and started attacking the other workers; the virus has already spread to the cities near the lab, and there's a chance it'll spread all over Equestria."

Applejack is becoming increasingly concerned. beads of sweat were forming above her forehead. "What are you talking about, S-Sis?" she asked over the phone.

"Lock your car and don't let anyone inside; if you happen to come across an infected person, avoid them at all costs; and whatever happens, don't let it bite you, do you hear me?" Sunset said.

Applejack looked at Rarity. Before speaking, she clasped her fiance's hand in hers. "Y-yes."

Sunset began, "Grab anything you can use as a weapon." "Stay alive, Applejack—" the call ended before Sunset could finish. Applejack drew back and looked at her phone screen.

There's no signal.

"A-Applejack..." Rarity whimpered while staring out the window. Applejack followed Rarity's gaze and witnessed the tragedy unfolding outside.

People are running and killing each other, and some houses are on fire.

"We need to get going," Applejack said, twisting the car keys to start the engine, but it didn't start. She tried several times but it was futile.

She noticed the car had run out of gas.

"Fuck!" exclaimed Applejack.

Think, Applejack. Think! She reflected on herself. She noticed a two-story house blocks away from their car.

She finally came up with an idea. She began looking around their car and discovered a few items. She grabbed her bag and stuffed it with two unopened bottles of water, one cracker, a phone charger, and other items.

Then she noticed a packing tape on their car's compartment. She grabbed it and looked at Rarity.

"Sunset said we should avoid being mauled by those things, so give me your arms," she said. Rarity raised her arms, and Applejack began wrapping her fiance's arms in packing tape.

She had done the same thing to herself. She returned her gaze to Rarity and snatched the wrench beside her.

"We're going inside that house," she said, pointing at it. "And we're going to run for it; hold my hand and don't let go, okay?" she said.
