"No, No No, No No No NOOO! This can't be! Okay okay let's calm down, Laila. It's only one test that may not be true for the other tests I have bought... listen to me I'm talking to myself, fuck! Okay. This is just one test lets try another one, and see if it says the same result."

That one word changes everything you have ever known. It's just a small word, but has the biggest impact on your life. It's unfair because it usually is always that you had another small word attached to it. I had sex with both Darryl and Carlos in the wake of this moment. This has caused me to look at a test that reads PREGNANT in bold letters of Clearblue. I had to take another one. I ripped the package open of another test and peed on that stick. I had chugged a bunch of water while in my car driving on the way over here, so I had plenty in my bladder to get rid of.  I set the timer again, and waited.

Everything I had ever done flashed before my eyes. Before I came to the Trap de Sac, I wasn't a virgin, but I seldom had sex.  My home life kept me tight to the despair of being a care taker of my parents who hated me. However, ever since I came here, I had been having sex more frequently. I was still vigilant on taking my birth control, and making sure who I was having sex with was using a condom. However, what I do remember from a sex ed class is that it really doesn't matter. Regardless of how careful you think you may be, these things can still take place. All it takes is for the joining of one egg and one sperm to be fertilized then boom! Baby on the way! FUUUCK!

I heard my phone ding and thought it was the timer again, but this time it was a text from Tracie.

"Where are you? The meeting's gonna be soon."

"I'll be there in a few minutes."

Shit! However a moment later the timer went off, I was shaking, but I had to look at the stick. This time when I read the stick, a wave of relief happened because it said  NOT PREGNANT. But that relief was short lived because I realized that's inconclusive. FUUUCK!  What the fuck am I suppose to do with this information now? I guess I will have to go to a doctor to get the real confirmation. FUCK This is just fucking great.

I grabbed the food from the refrigerator, loaded it back up in the car, and drove over to Darryl's place. It was a Friday morning so I figured I should call the doctor soon before the weekend hits.

"Hi, This is Laila Robinson, how soon can I see Dr. Perkins?"

"She won't be available until next Friday."

Holy shit another week until I can figure this out? Maybe I could find a clinic instead.

"Yea that's fine can I have a early appointment?"

"9:00 am?"

"That works."

"Okay your appointment will be next Friday at 9 with Dr. Perkins. If you have any COVID symptoms we can reschedule you. We also ask that you wear a mask when you come in."

Thank you."

I decided to keep the appointment in case I couldn't see a clinic right away to find out sooner. This is such a mess. I started getting the groceries out when I was greeted by Darryl's dog, Buddy. I see Darryl coming out behind him to help.

"Hey what took you so long slow poke." As he grabbed some bags from my hand, I reached down to pat his dog on the head.

"Sorry, the lines at the grocery store are still really long." Lie, but what was I gonna say "Yea actually funny story,  I had to take a pregnancy test before I got over here, and now I'm an emotional wreck."

Tracie came, and took the rest of my bags. I walked into the kitchen behind them. Buddy walked back to the back patio to lay in the sun.

As I was helping them put things up in the refrigerator and in the cabinets, all my head kept repeating was
