from the day she was born, aminat hatun was loyal. loyal to her father, to her sultan, and to her best friend, the sehzade mustafa. the two played in the gardens and within his chambers. the two had played house, where mustafa was the husband and aminat the wife. and because they were so close, mahidevran, bali bey, and sultan sulieman often joked about them growing up and marrying. but when aminat's mother, caria, fell ill, malkoçoğlu bali bey sent his daughter back home to tend to her. when she was told, aminat ran to mustafa's rooms and the two of them hid away for six hours. eventually, they were found asleep in the library, wrapped in each other's arms. aminat was torn from his arms and brought back to her father, who accompanied her home. her mother got slightly better. at least, better enough that she told someone what she wished for her child's life: the best education possible. she believed aminat was "destined for glorious purpose". whatever that meant. so, when she died, the child was sent into the european world, to italy. it was different than what she was used to, but she soon got used to it. the girl was taught to paint, and painted by some of the best at the time, and at eight sent a portrait home to her father.
she was taught ballet in russia, to sing in romania, but her mind was advanced the most in france. amie, as the french called her, was the first female ambassador from the ottoman empire to france and often spoke with the king himself. but, amie missed her father more than anything. and with the king's and sultan's approval, she was allowed to return home. the day she returned, the castle seemed to be happier. the concubines in the harem weren't fighting, nothing bad happened with mahidevran and hurrem. and the bey was rather excited. he hadn't seen his daughter since he left home, after bringing her home to see her dying mother. since then, she had become a woman. yes, they had written to each other, but it wasn't anything like being there together in person. a messenger alerted the castle and harem that the girl would be arriving soon. and as hatice sultan and ibrahim pasha stood waiting, a carriage rolled up. ibrahim opened the carriage door only for a sheep to get out.
as mahideravan and mustafa walked out of the castle, a beautiful woman was helped out, taking the hand of ibrahim. when out, she lit up, curtising and kissing the hand of hatice before wrapping her in a giant hug. the little sheep moved and sat down in front of the prince before letting out a loud "baaa". this caused amie to let out a melodious giggle and let go of hatice. she once again curtised to the sultana and her sehzade. "this is ozan. he means well, i assure you. he just wants to be pet." mustafa smiled and carressed the head of the sheep. "i've missed you-" he blurted out to amie, causing a blush to dance across the cheeks of both of them. "and i have missed you... you all." another woman got out of the carriage and took hold of the sheep's leash. "where should i put him...?" ibrahim pasha told her the stables, but hatice told an agha to bring the little guy up to the rooms amie would be living in. amie took her best friend's arm as they walked inside. "i have really missed you... i brought you treats." mustafa placed a gentle hand over her own. "and i have missed you... come on, there is a LOT you have missed."
