Hongjoong looked over at the alarm clock.
2:23 a.m
Knowing it would be another restless night, he turned over to his boyfriend. Mingi was sound asleep, looking as peaceful as ever. Hongjoong got up from the bed slowly and made his way to the kitchen, making a cup of coffee.
'Everything is just so tiring, yet I can't seem to sleep' He thought to himself.
Taking his coffee after it was finished, fixing it just as he liked it. Soon enough, the coffee was gone and Hongjoong had made his way to his office.
Mingi and Hongjoong have been together for a few years now. Recently they've grew distant, causing a few fights every now and then. On top of all that, they had to keep it to themselves, pretending everything was fine in front of their friends.
With everything going on, Hongjoong grew tired of the fighting and distancing. He wished he could take everything back, wishing Mingi and himself could be back on good terms. Although he wished and hoped, it only got worse. He knew there was no saving them now.
Quietly pushing his thoughts aside, Hongjoong opened up his laptop and began to distract himself with work. Soon enough many hours went by, and he could hear Mingi groaning slightly as he woke up.
Mingi made his way to Hongjoong after doing a few morning stretches, slowly wrapping his arms around the older. Hongjoong looked up at him and gave a small smile, he loved the few sweet moments they had. He would cherish them forever, no matter what ended up happening in the future.
"Did you get any sleep?" Mingi hesitantly asked.
"A little, but it's fine" he replied before looking back at his laptop.
Mingi sighed softly before walking to the kitchen and making them breakfast. He also knew they might not be able to fix things. A few months ago, he felt as if Hongjoong started pulling away. He felt as if he wasn't good enough for the hardworking man.
Mingi plated the food and set table, walking back to Hongjoongs office. He was hoping he'd finally come out and eat with him.
"Hey joong, I made us breakfast.. if you wanna come out to eat?" he slowly asked.
After a while of silence Mingi bit his lip, "or I'll just bring it he-"
"I'll come eat with you" Hongjoong said cutting him off.
Mingi looked at him in shock, they haven't eaten together in a long time. Hongjoong got up from his seat and grabbed Mingi's hand, intertwining their fingers. He smiled softly at the gesture, excitedly leading Hongjoong to the table. Sitting down at the table, they ate and talked about a few random things, planning what they might do for the day. After breakfast, Hongjoong went to do the dishes while Mingi slowly snuck behind him to hug him.
While doing the dishes, he casually thought to himself, 'these small moments are the best, I wish it could last forever'.
He sighed and dried the dishes off, turning around to see Mingi standing there with teary eyes. He looked at him confused, suddenly being pulled into a tight hug from the younger. He hugged back, letting him stay there as he sobbed quietly. Mingi eventually pulled away, looking to the side.
"I-it can last forever.. can't it?" he choked out.
"Of course it can, and i'll do my best to make sure it does" Hongjoong promised, feeling bad as he didn't realize he said anything out loud.
"I'm sorry.. I didn't mean to get so emotional.." Mingi said as he slowly backed away.
Hongjoong moved closer to him, reaching an arm out to wipe his tears. Mingi flinched slightly thinking he would be slapped. He sighed, cupping the others cheeks while wiping his tears away with his thumbs. Mingi opened his eyes and looked into the older's eyes. Hongjoong smiled slightly, leaving a small kiss on his nose.
He pulled him into another hug, smiling a bit, "Thank you Joongie".
"Don't thank me~ " Joong hugged back and kissed his shoulder gently."Why nott?" Mingi smiled slightly as he teased his lover.
"I just wanted to be honest" he shrugged slightly.
"Awe is that it? No other reason?" the taller pouted playfully.
"Also because I love you, you deserve the truth, good things, and much much more" HongJoong smiled.
Mingi blushed a bit, "I think we both deserve that from from each other".
"I agree, let's just be very good to each other then" he chuckled.
The other laughed slightly before picking him up, running to the couch. HongJoong held onto him tightly as the other did so, soon feeling himself fall onto the couch just to be tickled, laughing loudly while trying to stop him. Mingi eventually stopped, cuddling him after putting on a movie.
"Why don't we start off our day with cuddling?" he hummed softly.
"Sounds good to me but after this we should go get washed up and ready to go out" Hongjoog replied.
"Go out where?" the younger asked confused.
"When we were eating breakfast and thought about what to do today, you muttered 'we could go on a date', didn't you?" Mingi nodded in response to these words, embarrassed that he was caught.
"Well, that's what we'll be doing today. Going on a date" Joong smiled softly.
Mingi nodded in agreement and they both went back to watching the movie, in the end they ended up making snacks and watching a few more movies since it was still a bit early. After a few movies and snacks they finally got up, turning the tv off to head to their room. Hongjoong made it to the room first, grabbing some clothes before turning to run to the bathroom first when Mingi stopped him. He held his hand and grabbed himself some clothes before taking him to the bathroom with him.
"Why don't we just shower together~" Mingi hummed before starting the shower.
"That works too" he smiled, happy that they would be showering together like they used to.
They both set their clothes aside before taking off what they were wearing, getting into the shower happily. They took a long loving shower before getting out and drying off, putting their clothes on and chasing each other around their home.
'What a lovely day it is' they both thought to themselves.
