George sighed as he finished his last practice, putting his feet flat on the ground, listening to his teachers clap in the background, "Good job George!" His main instructor congratulated, jotting down some notes in her clipboard, "You are faster than most of my other students, you should be able to graduate very soon!"
The Brit gave his instructor a small smile, "Thank you Mrs. Cara!" He bowed to her, thankful he had gotten her as an instructor. The woman's stage name was Captain Puffy, her performances known to be one of the best, George wanted to be as famous as her.
Cara smiled up at him, "I recommend you join the school contest that's coming up in a few months, since you are a fast learner it should be easy for you," she walked up to the stage, handing him a piece of paper.
George took the paper, reading what it said, the poster promoted a contest, other students his level would be competing, each one had to find a dance they didn't know, and preform it. He looked back up at Cara, "I'll try to compete!" She gave him a warm smile, "You'll do great honey, now I need to attend to my next class, keep up the good work George." And with that, she was gone.
George picked up his backpack and started to head home, wondering what dance he could preform. He was too caught up into his thoughts that he bumped into someone, "Oh I'm so sorry...?" He murmured, realizing the person hadn't even noticed him, they were to busy watching something in the middle of what George realized was a big crowd.
He could hear some music playing through the cheering, so he made his was closer to see what the commotion was all about. In the middle of the crowd, there was a man dancing. "Alright guys, last one and I gotta blast, come on gimme a song!" He exclaimed, adjusting his mask, his green eyes filled with excitement
The crowd roared with lots of suggestions, George decided to join in, "PLAY EVERYWHERE I GO!" That made the masked man snap his attention to the brit, George could tell that this dancer liked his suggestion, "Alright folks, we have a winner, come on pretty boy, connect your phone and play the song." George flushed at the nickname, stepping out of the crowd, causing lots of them to murmur
"That's Captain Puffy's student, George Davidson."
"What's he doing here?! Won't Puffy be furious?!"
"Of course he got picked, this guy must know that he's going to be famous."
The masked singer tsked at the last comment, "C'mon now guys, he gave a good suggestion, I don't tolerate that kind of talk here, if you want to talk shit, get out." A few people glanced at eachother, some even muttered their complaints and left, but there was still a large crowd around George and the dancer.
"I'm... I'm sorry for causing trouble..." George whispered, making the other man shrug, "You ain't a problem, come on, play the song, George" he whispered back, making George smile at him. The brit walked up to the speaker, connecting his phone and playing the song.
As soon as it started, he felt the dancer grab him and spin him to face a smiley face mask. "Show them what they are missing.." The man whispered into George's ear, referring to the brits dances.
George had always been enthusiastic about dancing, any dance he wanted to try, he did it. He smirked up at the masked dancer, taking his hand and spun him around.
Following along with the song, the two danced, George couldn't keep up with the other dancer, especially when he fluidly flipped and danced on his hands. The crowd cheered when the song was done, George huffing for air, staring at the other with surprise, "Alright folks, It's been fun, but I seriously got to go, thanks for coming!" The masked dancer exclaimed, watching as the crowd left
He turned to a sweating George, laughing at how tired the brit looked, "You did great man. But, you shouldn't try to keep up with me, make your own moves, that gets the crowd going." George rubbed the back of his head, "I uh... I don't necessarily know how to dance like that, well more like I was shut down whenever I did," he murmured back, making the other gasp,
"Oh come on, don't let them shut down what you enjoy doing, didn't my mom tell you that?" George widened his eyes and snapped his gaze back at the dancer, "Your mom?" The dancer nodded, "Captain Puffy, or Cara, is my mom, she talks a lot about how great you are, and don't worry, I didn't pick you for that reason." He assured when George frowned.
The masked dancer unplugged George's phone from his speaker, holding it out to the brit, "I'm preforming tomorrow too, I'd love to see you again..." he stated, making George smile brightly, "Before you go, can I have your name?"
The masked dancer looked to the side, "Don't want you to know just yet but, I go by Dream on the streets..." George nodded, "Alright, Dream, I'll try to be here tomorrow, I had fun, maybe do another dance with me yeah?"
Dream nodded eagerly, "You bet, just keep the song suggestions up and I'll dance with you." He winked at the brit, making George look away, flushed.
And with that, they both parted ways.
All that night, all George could think about was how great Dream was at dancing, then the idea sparked, he could try freestyle for the contest. He hugged his pillow tightly, smiling.
He just had to ask Dream to help him out on it though.
Clay opened the door to his house, greeted with his angry mother, "Street dancing again?" Cara asked, her hands on her hips, Clay rolled his eyes, "C'mon ma, it's not that bad, it's just for fun."
Cara pinched the bridge of her nose, "What am I going to do with you.... Oh well, how was it this time duckling?" Clay shrugged, "It was just about the same, but your student ended up in the crowd..."
Cara whipped her head towards him, "George? George was at your performance?!" Clay nodded, making the woman laugh, "I'm guessing you took him to dance with you?"
Once again, Clay nodded, looking to the side smiling, "He was a good dancer, but he needs more work on freestyle, guys got it in him, he just needs that wall to come down." Cara let out a small sigh, "If he liked it, he's most likely going to come to you for help, honestly I'm guessing since it's not something he delved into, he's going to use it for the concert..." Clay smiled, "He might become better than you ma." Cara smiled back, "I plan on it Clay..."
His smile soon faded, "One more thing ma..." Cara hummed her response, "Can you... Keep my name a secret? I don't want him knowing it just yet..." Cara looked at him, a soft smile on her face, "Of course Duckling, take as much time as you need on that,"
Clay flashed her a grateful smile, "Thanks ma," he whisked his way upstairs, closing the door behind him, flopping onto his bed, turning to lay on his back.
Memories of George watching him with awe, trying to match his moves but failing at some points. But the memory he liked the most was when George's own freestyle peeked through, the brit moved ever so fluidly, a wide smile on his face.
Clay looked up at his ceiling, a smile on his face, if George needed help, he'd help as much as he could.
