Namjoo's eyes uneasily wavered. So full of guilt.

It was nearly over now.

Shifting to face him, she introduced, "Sehun, my mom."

"Oh...oh!" Coming to he instantly bowed. Greeting her, breathing a little faster because he was overjoyed and also caught off guard. "Mother."

Her mother raised a brow. Roving eyes over him. Shooting her a glance she murmured, "I see."

Closing the door Sehun hurried inside. "Let me get you some water."

Her mouth opened to retaliate, but the woman already brushed past.

Ecstatically fumbling through the shelves Sehun brought down an expensive glass cup Namjoo had never seen before. Seeming energetic as if he'd been home all day having woken up from a long seasonal slumber.

"Please sit down." He gestured to her mother to sit. Politely sliding the glass over he smoothed out his uncreased suit before sitting opposite her.

Guessing there was no choice, Namjoo sat beside him. Awaiting the next scene to unfold.

Confrontation between a stricken mother and an overzealous husband.

"Sorry, I look like a mess." Sehun nervously apologized.

Namjoo frowned. He was as clean shaven as ever. Not a hair out of place. His suit was still in tiptop shape as it was when he pulled it out of the closet to wear. The guy hadn't even taken off his jacket. No wonder he was sweating buckets!

She wished he'd stop exaggerating. It made him look worse by the second. As if her mother was here to scrutinize him.

"You love my daughter?" Jina asked.

"Mom." Namjoo whispered not expecting her to go down this path.

"Yes." Sehun replied. He was so skittish it was kind of adorable seeing him this way. So highly strung in front of her mother. Confessing his feelings for her. The love they recently declared for another.

Strangely, she was happy and sad at the same time.

Sehun was so sweet. She really wished she deserved this.

One take at his form and he was like a powerful wall standing by her, protecting her. Shielding her from all odds. She needed nothing else if she could keep dreaming about that white knight coming to sweep her off her feet.

But...

Dreams are but dreams.

"You are aware my daughter's background is not significantly solid. We're not an amicable family."

"I know." Sehun asserted. "I know everything, but I still want to spend the rest of my life with her." Perking up more eagerly, "I promise I will take good care of her. You don't have to worry about anything."

"Ha!" her mother laughed. "When she lives in such a big house, what kinds of things does she need to worry over?"

Sehun smiled then didn't then tried again unsure. Anxious he peeked at her for assurance.

"Mom, please." Namjoo begged.

"Let me stay the night." Her mother said. "I'd like to get to know my son-in-law's family."

"What?!" Namjoo spat shocked.

On the other hand, Sehun's eyes lit up brightly as if he'd seen God himself.

"Yes! Yes, certainly," Sehun eagerly welcomed her. "I'll get someone to prepare your room right away. Please, make yourself at home."

Excusing himself he left the table to go in search of Cleaner Jin. Wheeling on her mom, Namjoo yelled, "Are you crazy?!" before chasing after Sehun.
