(Bad Girls - MKTO)

-

I was walking slowly between the long and plain dull beige walls. To some people this place was hell, but to others, it was their safe place. To me, it's neither. This was my safest place to be.

-

SOMEHOW, watching the trees pass in my window was kinda therapeutic. When you really concentrate, they seem to go slowly but when you divert your eyes to the side, they look like you're going way faster, when in truth, you're not. Far away, you could see a big sign on the side of the road. As we're getting closer, I can distinct the words « Welcome to Palmdale ». My nerves automatically started to kick in. I was looking forward to seeing my two best friends again but at the same time I was kind of nervous that they forgot about me or that they wouldn't welcome me as they would see how messed up I became since I left.

We arrived at our new house within fifteen minutes. From the outside of it, it seems like a normal and happy family home, the exact opposite of who we are. My father unlocked the front door and went inside. I quietly followed him and stared at the interior.

« What are you waiting for? Bring in the boxes, I got things to do » my father said to me angrily.

Without arguing, I followed his orders and brung in all our things and started unpacking the things for the kitchen and then I took the painting my mom made when I was younger and hung it on the living room's wall.

« Be careful! This painting is worth more than you!» my father screamed at me once again. I knew better than to talk back because it's useless and he gets angry and when he's drunk he likes to smash things and I make sure to not get in the way.

Thankfully, a few minutes later, my father went upstairs to unpack his things and then go to sleep because we've been on the road since 5 am. After approximately two hours of unpacking and organizing, I decided to head to bed to go to sleep. My last thoughts before passing out were how excited I was about to meet my friends again at school tomorrow after three years of having no news to them since when we moved, my father broke my phone and I had to buy a new one and change my number.

The next morning, I woke up from my alarm ringing straight into my ears. I got up and I went into my bathroom. I took a quick hot shower and then I brushed my hair and let it dry naturally. I did my short skincare routine that only consisted of washing my face and putting on moisturizer. Thankfully, my skin didn't produce any pimples but instead I often got bruises to hide with foundation. Afterwards, I walked over to my dresser and put on a red skirt with a black top and I topped it off with my signature leather jacket and black high heel boots.

I took my keys and my bag and I quietly went downstairs and saw my dad passed out on the couch. I went out the door and I walked over a few blocks and I saw my baby parked on the street. I hired someone to bring it here because I didn't want my father to be suspicious. He doesn't know that I bought myself a car because I always park it far from the house. I just don't want him to know because if he knows he will probably take it or take away my money since he's my legal guardian. I unlocked my carbon black Audi R8, climbed inside and I searched where was the nearest Dunkin Donuts.

Since we didn't have any food at the house, I was pretty hungry. I went to the drive thru and took a glazed donut with an iced coffee. After eating in the parking lot, I still had a little bit of time left before school so I decided to drive around the neighborhood. Some things changed and others stayed the exact same. I passed by my childhood favorite park and I remembered some of the memories I made here with my family a few years ago. I snapped out of it and told myself now was not the time to start sulking over the past. I made a U-turn and went directly to the highschool.

When I arrived in the parking lot, all eyes were on my car. I parked it in front of the school and I got out and put on my sunglasses to make an even better entrance. Girls were glaring at me because all the boys were eye-raping me and basically drooling on the floor. I continued my way through the hallways and I finally arrived at the secretary's office. An old lady was loudly tapping on the keyboard of her computer.

« Hi, I'm here to get my locker number and my timetable. » I said.

« Name, please? »

« Aurora Rossi » She typed my name into the system, printed my timetable and she gave me my school books.

« Here, your locker number is 555 and the combination is 10-09-36, have a nice day. » She said to me.

I left the office and directly went to search for my locker. After not even two minutes I found it and I put my things in it. I took a look at my timetable and I saw that my first class was calculus. I decided to go now so I won't be late because I know I probably won't find my classroom soon. After like five minutes I hear the school bell ring and I kept walking because I was already late anyway. A few minutes later I finally found my class so I kicked the door and it flew open. I stepped inside with a smirk as everyone had their jaw on the floor. The teacher almost had steam coming out of her ears because she was so angry.

« I assume you're the new student, can you say your name and present yourself, please?» the teacher asked me.

« Nope » I said in a bored tone.

« Okay then, please take a seat, miss » the teacher sighted. I did as told, for once, and I went to sit.

My next classes went pretty smoothly and I could tell people were already pretty scared of me and I didn't even hit anyone yet, which was a personal record. Time went by in a flash and before I knew it was lunchtime so I decided to head to the cafeteria in hopes to find my child hood best friends. I kicked open the doors and everyone was staring at me and a few recognized me already. I scanned the room and my eyes fell on a table occupied by a tall boy and a short blonde girl. Even from the back of their head I could recognize them, the only few people I truly trusted. They turned their head to see the source of the loud bang and their eyes immediately opened wildly.

« Omg... Rory? » The girl, Marwa exclaimed.

The both of them got up slowly and them started running towards me with tears in their eyes. My arms flew open as I welcomed them into a tight embrace. I hugged them for what seemed like forever and I let out a cheeky laugh. « Guess who's back, bitches»
