More Than Friends

Where Rye and Andy discover they are actually something more.

(Andy's POV)
Soulmates.
I have been waiting for my 18th birthday for so long, waiting for the day that I can finally start looking for my soulmate. All through school, as well as your usual subjects like Maths and English and what not, you also get taught about soulmates. So this is stuff like how you will find them, what will happen and the history about soulmates too.
And forgive me for this history lesson but I just can't help myself. So soulmates have been around for centuries. In the olden days when you turned 18 you used to get a name, or number engraved onto your arm and your soulmate would have your name, or the same number engraved onto theirs. However, soulmates move with the times and so do symbols so now we get an emoji engraved onto our arm. Now this could be your soulmates favourite emoji, or it could be their reaction when they meet you. No one really knows as we are the first generation to have this new symbol. Therefore, we are all in the same boat when it comes to understanding it.
Anyway it's my 18th today as you may have predicted. I woke up this morning with my right arm burning it felt like my skin was burning off literally and I looked to see an emoji that was blushing with a kissing face.
I took a picture straight away wanting to share this moment with my friends.

Anyway after my mum freaked out I gave her a kiss and finally left for school.

So right now, I have just arrived at school going to my locker and I put the books in that I didnt need for my morning lessons. I met Brook and Jack there and then we looked and talked about my soulmate symbol. Suddenly someone wrapped their arms around my waist making me jump. I turned around to see my best friend in the whole world. Ryan Beaumont. He has been my best friend since diapers, we're been through thick and thin together and we have an amazing friendship. However, I have a confession, I like Rye as more than a friend, I have for a while now. It's just, he is so handsome and caring and he takes care of me and looks out for me so good. And I mean we even act like a couple sometimes. I would even go as far as to say he makes me a better person.
And I'm not going to lie I have pictured Rye in my bed, he makes me weak I cant help it. All my friends have already got their soulmate mark's, but they haven't found their soulmates yet. Rye turned 18 a couple of weeks ago, so he already got his emoji and he showed me immediately. It is an emoji with heart eyes and it's so cute.
"You scared me Rye." I said and he chuckled. Our friends laughing at my reaction.
"Sorry Andy, happy birthday, oh did you get your symbol!?" he asked excitedly.
"Yeah look." I said holding my hand out.
"Wow that's cute." He said touching it lightly with his fingers.
All of a sudden though my arm started hurting really bad like it felt like it was burning and I winced.
"Woah Andy are you ok?" Brook asked getting concerned.
"No my arm hurts." I hissed holding my arm out looking down noticing that my symbol was red.
"Rye?" Jack questioned and I looked up at Rye surprised that he was having the same reaction to me. His symbol was red as well.

Rye's eyes met mine as we looked from each others symbols and back to each others eyes again. Wait what? We knew what was going on but I could tell Rye was as confused as I was, but we both knew it was right. It was burning so much now it was like my arm was on fire, having the same effect on Rye too.
Rye slowly stepped forward to not startle me and he put his hand out, the same one that had his symbol on and took my hand in his.
And all of a sudden the burning feeling went away making me sigh, hearing Rye let out a sigh as well. I looked at Rye and couldn't help but smile and he gave me one of his beautiful smiles as well. I felt so happy and giddy about this.
"You're my soulmate, you are mine oh Andy." Rye said happily pulling on my hand and bringing me closer as he wrapped his arms around me in a hug.
I blushed at his words feeling so good in his arms, as I snuggled closer putting my head on his chest.
"God you're adorable." Rye said putting his arms around me more and I chuckled.
"I have always liked you Andy for so long and now you are my soulmate, I just... wow." Rye said chuckling, me feeling the vibrations running through his chest.
"I have always liked you too Rye as more than a friend and god." I said not being able to say anymore. Rye let me go a bit as I lifted my head up so he can see my face.
"You have?... I-I love you Andy you are so beautiful." Rye said as he stroked my cheek. I blushed bright red at his compliments.
"Really I love you two Rye." I said and Rye smiled widely leaning down and connecting our lips in a soft love filled kiss. His lips were everything I imagined them to be, so soft and delicate and delicious like god they tasted of raspberries, uhh I'm addicted.
I now understand why my symbol is this emoji, because Rye makes me blush so much at his beautiful words and I now realised that I love to kiss him. Therefore, my feelings for Rye is showcased in my emoji symbol and for Rye's emoji the heart eyes smiley face, that's his feelings for me which I think is so perfect.
Suddenly someone cleared their throat making us break our kiss as we looked to the owner to see Jack and Brook stood there staring at us smiling happily. Oh I forgot they were there to be honest whoops. But then Brook frowned.
"Why do you get a soulmate on your birthday, where is my soulmate I want to kiss them too, Jack give me a kiss." Brook said puckering his lips to Jack and me and Rye laughed as Jack pushed Brook away laughing, Brook laughing as well.
"Oh Brook." 🤦‍♂️😌 😚 😍
