Sages Ending

Comforting

     I look to Hero, as he looks uneasy ever since I stepped into the room. "Hero wanna go get a snack? I'm kinda hungry haha." I laugh trying to get him out of whatever he's thinking of. He snaps of out it, and stares at me.

  "Uh sure!", Hero says with a distant smile. We head over to the vending machines to try and get a snack still waiting for Mari's parents. I of course ask how he's doing to which he sighs.

   "I think if you weren't there Mari wouldn't be here right know", he laughs as he try's to play such a bold statements off. I stare and get lightheaded, did he know? I mean listen I know the time stop thing is cool and all but what if the government tried to take me, that's why I don't tell anyone. That's not important right now though. Questions start to ramble in my mind before I snap back to reality.

  "Hah Hero what do you mean by that?" I stare with a fake smile as I'm nervous.

  "Oh! I've always feared that Sunny and Mari would get into an argument and something bad would happen, but luckily you were there to prevent that.", Hero says with a tired face. I sigh as I understand what he means. That fear of someone you love being in danger, I understood that better then anyone.

  "Hero it's alright to get your feelings out, you know? I know you care... well a lot about Mari." He starts to vent and gets pretty emotional so I give him a nice hug with somewhat good advice.

  "Thank you, hah that was something I needed to calm me down", Hero says with a smile.  I giggle and tell him it's alright as we walk back into Mari's room. I quickly check on everyone else, Aubrey seemed alright, but I gave her a hug just incase. Kel fell asleep per usual, but there was something off about Basil.

  Basil whispers to me "So you know what happened too?". My heart skip a beat, okay maybe two. To think he would try even saying something like that worried me. "So tell me the truth you knew, right?" Basil muttered with what I thought was a grin. I grab Basil and took him out of the hospital room.

   He looks at me blank and says, "If that's what you feel comfortable with sure, I'm just glad you were there before me." He says with almost tears?

   "Basil what did you know before you went to Sunny's house?" I say with slight panic in my voice.

  "Oh! I just thought we both had a uneasy feeling today, that's what made me wanna go over so sudden.", he says very confused with my panic. I laugh and hug him and he takes a slight giggle out as well. We quickly head back to Mari's room to see her parents there.
