Serendipity

Wandering aimlessly to wherever my feet would take me

Not knowing what lies ahead the stretch of pavement

Never searching, never knowing

That this fine day would bring a blessing

You came into sight

A man so sleek, so right

Just sitting there like you've got all of time to spare

As the wind blows through your ruffled hair

You gave a laugh as you read through your book with a stare

I watched in admiration but then you raised your head towards my direction

Our eyes locking into an awfully tight gaze

You gave out a smile as I walked on by

I pushed my luck and talked to you with a weary smile

There is so much going on in my mind

But out of all the words, I muttered a "Hi"

Still plastering an uncomfortable smile

I didn't know how you would reply

To my simple greeting that went hanging for a while

So glad to hear your voice reply with a kind "Hey"

As I picture your smile next to me

The way you smile, as you talk through your eyes

Makes me shiver in an uneasy way

How can I? Pretend and come up with a lie?

That I found the one with the thing they call

SERENDIPITY
