"All right, that ought to do the trick."
Dr. Hale finishes wrapping the bandage around my knuckles and smiles at me. He has a very handsome smile, that's for sure.Dr. Hale has been very helpful through this whole process for me. I'm glad I didn't get a drab doctor who couldn't give less of a shit about me. And Dr. Hale's face.. well that is indeed an added bonus.
I slumped down in my hospital bed again as they said i have a dangerously high blood pressure and need to spend the night.
The nurses leave the room and it is just me and Dr. Hale.
"I need to fill out your paperwork. Can I ask you a few questions?" He pulls out a pad of paper and a pen from the desk.
I nod and he studies the paper.
"Were you drunk at the time of the accident?"
"Yes.." I answer truthfully.
"Was Mr. McCall as well?" He asks, tugging a few heart strings. I do not answer and attempt to stop the impending flow of tears from falling down my cheeks.
I bite my lip and nod softly and a small tear pours out. I should have never let Scott drive.
Dr. Hale comes over and sits adjacent to me and puts his hand on my back.
"I'm sorry. Touchy subject, huh?"
I nod. "You know what, I think I have enough information to fill out the papers myself," he adds. "I'm sorry I brought it up, Stiles."
I nod again grimly and he smiles. "You wanna go grab some coffee from the break room? I know I'm not supposed to bring you in there, it's strictly medical officials only, but I'm willing to take the risk."
I smile. "Yeah Dr.Hale, thank you."
He turns to me as we walk out the door. "Alright I'm risking my neck for you here so I'm gonna ask you one simple favor."
I look at him intently. "Just call me Derek from now on, okay?" He asks.
I blush and nod and we walk out together. He's not too much older than me, if only I had a chance to- wait no stop it Stiles, he's your doctor. He's just getting you coffee, it's not like he's asked you out to a candlelit dinner. Stop coming to conclusions about him even liking you at all, he probably doesn't anyway. It's just a normal thing for doctors to do for their patients, risk their jobs and all, right?
