"Where is it? Where is it?!" I dig through the couch cushions with ferocity, using my hand to find what I could.

"What's wrong?" Karl questioned, peaking from around the downstairs bathrooms corner. Mom and dad had gone out on a dinner date, much like they had all that time ago when I teleported to Karl's world.

"My locket necklace. I think I dropped it when we were watching the movie last night," I sighed, worried that I'd lost the piece of fine-jewelry.

"Hm? You mean this?" Karl held up my familiar locket with a knowing smirk. "I found it on the couch after you'd fallen asleep, thought I'd pick it up and have some fun."

"Karl!" I scolded, smiling despite my tone as I bounce over to grab the small trinket. "Thank you."

He nods, looking down at the matching locket around his neck. "We still need to get photos in them."

My eyes widen when I remember the fact that there was still nothing inside the inner blank space. "We'll get that covered as soon as we can."

Karl nods, stumbling down a little before catching himself with the wall. "Sorry, lost my footing for a second."

That was the fifth time today I'd seen him do that, and I was done pretending. "Karl, when are you going to let me talk about the issue and stop ignoring it?"

He sighed, running a hand through his hair. "y/n, nows not the time—"

"Then when is?! You block me and your issue out, as if that'll make it go away! It's not gonna go away!" I raised my voice, tired of listening to the same excuse each time I asked him the question.

"I don't want to fight over this," Karl mumbled, keeping his calm despite how bipolar he is with his own emotions.

"Do you want to leave me?!" I finally cried out, my eyes misting as Karl's widened.

"What?"

I walked forward a little more, grabbing onto his hand. "Am I not good enough for you in this world?"

The man shook his head quickly. "y/n, no! Never..." A sigh escaped his lips at he rested his head onto mine. "I— There's nothing we can do to stop this, Buttercup."

I sniffle, grabbing his shirt to relish in the cologne that still somehow left a lingering scent of oil. Oh how I'd miss the smell. "How do you know that? Why wouldn't I be able to keep you with me if I brought you here?"

Karl's sad laugh reached my ears, his hand running through my hair after getting away from my own grasp. "Because I don't belong here. You belong here."

His tone only made me cry harder, all of my walls crashing in as I tried to be as close to the man as possible. "Don't leave..."

It seemed like those words were enough to pull his heart strings, because it wasn't long before I felt warm tears hitting me. "Believe me, I don't want to."

"Then just stay..."
