I awaken to the dim sunlight seeping in through the gap in the beautifully embroidered curtains in my room. Well Anastasia's room. This will definitely take some getting used to. My old room was just your typical average room with the essentials like my bed, wardrobe, book shelf , photos etc. But it is nothing compared to this .... Masterpiece. It has walls which are the colour of a creamy pink with golden intricate designs throughout the vast space. My bed is like a cloud to sleep on, I honestly don't think I've slept that well in years it was quite litterally a miracle. In my past life I would always get nightmares and those caused many restless and sleepless nights for me . But this bed however solved all of those problems. My favourite thing has to be the view from my balcony. It shows the river curkra and the city of Gallows in all its glory. With its modern and aesthetic buildings , but also the hustle and bustle of the Kingdom. God I could look out this window all day but I don't have any more time as I hear a knock at my door.

It's my personal maid Susan who my family have had by my side since birth. In the book Susan was described as a hard working warm hearted girl which she is every bit and more. She is articulate and so calculating with everything single thing she does. Like how she walks into my room and starts to get my dress and corset ready for me so I can get ready and begin my day. She has chosen a yellow dress which reminds me of a sunflower in full bloom. It has little bits of pink fluttering through it too. It is simply perfect, Susan seems to have very good taste in dresses for me. But this corset she is currently tightening on me is made by Satan himself . It is oh so very uncomfortable it makes me feel as if my insides are being squished together, which makes it feel very difficult to breathe. Maybe I'm just a drama queen or this thing really is the devils contraption. However it does not matter what I think of it as it is mandatory for a lady to wear a corset in the world as, it helps to "accentuate the figure " or so they say I just think it's a waste of time honestly. She starts on my hair which she brushes through thoroughly and starts to braid it into a plait. She picks out a few pieces to frame my face and finishes it off with a beautiful pink ribbon at the end .

I pick a strawberry from my plate and enjoy the flavour of the juices bursting in my mouth, while my other family members sit at the table eating their pancakes and eggs . My father who is king of Hallows drizzles maple syrup over his light and airy pancakes which makes me wish I hadn't turned down the pancakes in the first place . However mother just has some blueberries scattered across them for a bit of flavour. This is my new family which I guess makes up for the one I barely had in my past life , but that's a story for another day. No wonder Anastasia was always described as so bubbly and kind these were her parents , my father is just a big teddy bear while mother just seems to emit rays of sunshine in her aura. They truly are the perfect family. " Anastasia as you know the neighbouring kingdom Arlene's Prince has just come of age , and is looking for a bride for his kingdom ". As father said that I nearly spat out my food , in the book the Prince of Arlene otherwise known as Nicholas Hale is depicted as a spoiled bratty prince who shows no mercy. He puts up a visage so that others outside the royal servants and family do not know of his true nature, only those who face the edge of his sword do. "Yes Father I have heard of the news, and why would this concern me? I do not mean to sound rude but I do wonder ". " Well we and the royal family of Arlene feel that a union between our great kingdoms would be in our best interests" . And there it was I knew it was coming, in the book Anastasia falls for Nicholas's charms and ends up marrying him but to her dismay she never really knew of his true nature. Until it was too late . He would be very controlling of Anastasia and possessive and never let her attend any balls unless he was with her, it caused her to fall into a depression which let to the downfall of Anastasia and eventually her death.Yes in the book Anastasia killed herself because she was unable to cope with the pain of being with him no longer and she was unable to divorce him as that would cause war, she chose to leave the world to be at peace. So under no circumstances will I be marrying Nicholas if it is the last thing I do. "Well Father I barely even know the boy, so how could you propose such a thing?" . I gave him the biggest puppy eyes I could muster, that ought to do the trick. " Anastasia I'm sorry but you have no say in what happens next, you know I love you but it is your duty as Princess to fulfill this union so the Kingdom of Gallows can prosper for future generations ". I could scream I would rather be stung my 1000 bees over and over than go through this marriage and end up as poor Anastasia did in the book, I will not let it happen to me not when I have my second chance at happiness. " Father please I beg of you don't do this" . " I am sorry Anastasia but the Hales are set to arrive here in the following days so you and Nicholas can get to know each other". My jaw opened so wide I wouldn't be surprised if a fly flew into it. Him coming here oh hell no. This does not happen in the book, Anastasia meets Nicholas for the first time at the ball of the seasons .
