Chapter 1 -

Sunlight streamed through the blinds, showering my face with flickers of light, like a pattern of diamonds. I opened one eye, and looked around, to see the train almost empty. Wondering how long I had slept, I opened the blind and looked out at the green countryside. I smiled at the site of my usual surroundings. This was more like what I was used to.

The past couple of weeks had been mental, and although it was what I had always dreamt of, I had missed my old village. The greenery was so beautiful, and even the vile smell of cow pat I had missed.

"Champagne sir?" I heard someone behind me ask politely. Turning around, I saw a small blonde waitress with a trolley. I wasn't used to travelling first class, it was weird having people wait on me and serve me campagne. I had never been very wealthy or popular when I lived at home, I was just normal really.

"I'm okay, but thanks!" I smiled at her. I could see the sudden recognition in her face, and she suddenly turned betroot red, and in an embarrased voice asked me for my autograph. I happily gave it to her, smiling as she practically sprinted away with the trolley.

We weren't poor, we lived in a nice, cosy house that felt comfortable and homey. I had a friendship group at school, and I still had close friends from there. I wondered what it was like now..... I had never made it in the A-list group, but I couldn't really say I was unpopular.... I had crushes, girlfriends and all that, but I've never had anyone serious, and there weren't many people that fancied me throughout my schooldays.

I knew that during my visit back home, I should definately go and visit my school. Although most of my friends had moved on to collage and university, I knew a few who were attending six-form.

"Harry! My baby!" My Mum cried as she threw herself at me desperately. I chuckled at her and hugged her back, before giving my step-dad a manly hug as well. I was a bit of a mummy's boy - ever since my parents had split up, I had grown extremely close to both of them.

We settled down in front of the fire for coffee and cakes, like we used to in the old days. I told them about Louis, Zayn, Liam and Niall, and they couldn't wait to see them again. They'd met them a little, when we all stayed there before Judge's Houses, but that was when we were only just getting to know everyone. Now we were all such amazing friends! It was weird thinking that it was the first time I had seen my Mum since before the final of the x-factor. So much had changed since then.

I had taken an overnight train, so I would have the whole day to spend with my family before I went to see my friends in the next couple of days, but because I hadn't slept much on the train, I felt exhausted. I must've had dark shadows under my eyes, because my Mum saw me warily staring into space, and sent me off to my bedroom, to get in a few hours of sleep.

My bedroom was the one place in the world where I could feel happy and at home. It was a normal bedroom, not very big but with a fantastic view, but there was something about it that made it special. I always found that after being on a journey, my bed was the only place I could feel comfortable in. When we shared one small room in x-factor, I often found it hard to sleep because I felt pretty..... bed-sick? I knew I would sleep well now though, I had missed home.

I woke up to the sound of dogs barking, and rushed to my window to see my best friend Will banging on the door, with his 5 spaniels. I grabbed some clothes and raced down the stairs, pulling Will into a massive bear hug. We were planning to go skiing together soon, and I couldn't wait. He was moving to Bristol this week, so I didnt think I was going to see him.
