"He's just become violent lately, and very much to himself. Paranoid almost, I'm just worried he's getting worse," I hear Hailey tell my therapist in the hall. She whispers about how I strangled her.She attempted to be quiet.
But I could hear it all.
She tried to be as silent as possible but I heard every single word and each of them hurt me.
"He did that to you?" He asks her and I could hear her sniffle before telling him that it was indeed me.
It was my hands that did that to her.
"You'll have to keep a close eye on him in case he hurts anyone else or himself," he tells Hailey and she agrees with him.
"That's what I've been doing, also making sure he's taking his medication every night," she tells him.
"Well, I'll try my best with him and you keep me updated on any changes," he tells her.
Before walking in he knocks on the white door and I tell him to come in.
"Good morning Justin," he tells me and I sat up on the bed.
"Good morning Dr. López," I greet him trying to act as normal and calm as possible.
I want him to see I was fine. Maybe if I do it well enough he'll believe Hailey is the crazy one, not me.
"How has everything been?" He asks me as he grabs a seat and he sits next to my feet.
"Fine," I say.
"Anything out of the ordinary happen recently?" He asks me.
I was sure he wanted me to mention how I strangled Hailey and almost killed her.
I clear my throat.
I look at Hailey as i readjusted my sitting.
"Yes," I say.
"And what is that?" He asks me.
"I strangled Hailey," I admit to him and he asks me what triggered me to do so.
"I thought she was an intruder," I lie and I see Hailey looking at me confused.
She had her arms crossed against her chest with her eyebrows furrowed.
"Intruder?" She repeats and the doctor looks back at her telling her to let me speak.
"Intruder you say?" He asks me and I nod my head.
"I was just trying to protect Daisy," I say and he looks at me confused.
"The baby," Hailey chips in and he nods his head.
"Right, the baby," he replies.
"I was giving Daisy a bath, and I heard some noise in the bathroom. Which now I know it was Hailey, but at that moment, as a parent, my first instinct was to attack anyone that could potentially hurt my daughter," I explain to him and he nods his head.
"Justin, you looked me in the eyes," Hailey tells me as I'm sure she was infuriated. She knew I was lying straight through my teeth to the psychologist.
"Hailey, let Justin speak, please. This is his session," the doctor tells her as he was turned in his seat.
He then turns to face me.
"And ever since this incident, how have you been feeling?" He asks me and I looked down at my hands as I felt horrible.
"Like a monster," I admit.
