Once a huge army truck got stuck in mud. A Commanding officer was given in charge to get the vehicle out of the mud. He reached the spot along with others subordinates, the subordinates continue to pull the vehicle out but all their efforts were in vain. That is when an onlooker making note of the entire situation asked the officer,"why don't you try helping your subordinates to lift the vehicle?". To which the officer replied "I am their senior, my job is to just direct them to get the vehicle out, plus this work would easily require close to 10 people whereas I have only six and all of them are trying their level best".
The onlooker quickly removed his shirt and jumped into the mud to help the others, In no time they were able to pull the vehicle out of it. Once the work finished the onlooker told others that they could reach out to him in case they needed any help.
On further enquiry they got to know that the onlooker was none other than sir George Washington, this took everyone by surprise. Sometimes we mistaken opportunity to help, as a movement to supervise its importance to know that every help turns into an effort, which in turns becomes a possibility to achieve our goals faster. If we are the kind who instead of helping are constantly directing others towards accomplishing, let's take time and think of how we can change our attitudes towards the same.
A true leader is not just one who shows the way but is the one who leads others through his or her own action towards the way, so let us try and humble ourselves for the world declare that God resist the proud and gives Grace to the humble. Self praising and justifying one's unwillingness to help is not something which please God. Let us be humble and take every opportunity to help others this day onwards.
