Elina hummed softly. Her finger rhythmically tapped the tiny body of her newborn son as she rocked him in her arms to sleep.
"Do you want me to take him?" Aiden's quiet voice came from behind her.
She glanced to where he stood near the crib, tucking in their little princess. It was a little past two bells in the morning. The couple had retired to bed not long ago when the infants wailed for their attention. Aiden tried his best to soothe the baby Prince while Elina fed their daughter but he only quietened once his belly filled up as well.
"It's okay. I got him." Elina whispered back. She kept her movements subtle as she lowered the sleeping infant beside his sister, gently covering him with the warm blanket.
Elina sighed as she climbed back under the covers. Aiden's arms found her and pulled her closer into his warm embrace. She snuggled her face into his shirt, hearing the rhythmic beat of his heart drumming in his chest.
Aiden kissed her hair and brushed his fingers across her scalp massaging the area almost subconsciously. He kept Elina as far away from work as possible but she still snuck around and completed tasks instead of resting like the healers had asked her to.
"Aid?" Elina mumbled.
"Yes, Rora?" Aiden whispered. Elina smiled. Eight years later and the name still gives her butterflies.
"Are you okay?" She asked. She craned her neck so she could see him face to face.
Aiden quirked an eyebrow. "Why wouldn't I be? I've got you and two of the most beautiful babies I've ever seen. Luckiest man alive."
"You've just got me? No adjectives to add to that sentence?" Elina teased.
Aiden's head dipped and her heartbeat grew rapid. "I can think of a few." He hummed. His lips brushed her cheek.
Elina tried not to show just how completely flustered she felt at the moment. "Go on. Let's hear them."
Aiden rolled them over so he had Elina with her back on the bed. He smirked at the blush furiously dusting her cheeks rosy pink. His arms framed her head on either sides.
"Breathtaking." Aiden kissed her forehead.
"Gorgeous." The soft spot at the edge of her eyelids.
"Magnificent." The tip of her nose.
"Majestic." Her full lips.
"Glorious." The tender spot at the base of her throat.
"Mine."
Elina gasped when Aiden pressed a soft kiss on the bond mark on her neck. His lips lingered for a few seconds as if contemplating their next move. And then a bubble of laughter escaped her lips.
Elina tried her hardest to muffle her laughter into the pillows all the while trying to stop Aiden from the tickling assault on her body. A playful smile adorned his face as he gazed at his bonded. He pushed himself off her as quietly as possible and slipped under the blanket once again.
