HARRY POTTER POV
"...Potions."
Harry pointed at the schedule, showing Ron the exact class the red-head didn't want to go to, yet the one they had next. "Cripes." Ron scowled, digging through his bag.
"I think I lost my textbook." He groaned, searching deeper still. "Do you know if Hermione would have an extra?"
Harry frowned, trying to recall whether or not Hermione owned another textbook. "I don't believe so...sorry Ron."
Sighing, Ron threw his book bag over his shoulder. "Oh well. When I'm dead, please tell my Mum I love her, would you? That's a good mate." Ron grinned as Harry nodded.
"And also, could you tell Hermione that I kind of-"
"What're you two talking about?" Hermione's voice came up from behind them, causing Ron to jump in surprise. "N-n-nothing. Erm. We were just heading to class...and Harry said, uh, something...embarrassing. Just had me...erm...anyway. Thats all!"
Ron's voice was decidedly nervous, and Harry could see his ears turning red. He wanted to know what Ron had meant to tell him, but by the look on his red-eared friend, that information was to be disclosed later.
Or never.
"Okay..." Hermione said, shooting Harry a questioning glance. Harry shrugged in response, not wishing to tell Hermione whatever Ron had not wanted her to hear.
"Well then! I think we have class now, don't we? Hermione, do you have an extra textbook for Potions? I've lost my own." Ron asked Hermione, his voice still a tad flustered.
"I- yes, I think I do." Hermione reached into her own bag, rustling around for a bit, before tugging out a dark book.
"Here you go. Don't lose it, though, Ron. This is my extra copy, and I usually give it to..." she stopped.
Ron grabbed the book, his face practically shining. "Thanks, Mione! Gee, what would I ever do without a friend like you?"
Hermione's nose turned the slightest shade of pink, and she averted her eyes, a small smile lighting up on her face.
While Harry found this adorable, he couldn't help but wonder whom Hermione usually lended her book to, and why she had paused mid sentence, conveniently not revealing any names.
Pushing it aside, Harry decided to question her later. Now that Ron had his copy of the textbook, they could head to class.

DRACO MALFOY POV
Draco lay back in the couch, sighing comfortably as free period came to an end.
An extremely furry cat suddenly walked into the Common Room, its tail high in the air, a letter clamped in its jaws. It was orange, with brown, intelligent eyes. Draco felt he had seen the feline before, but could not remember when.
Pansy, whom had been sitting quietly beside Draco, stood up hurriedly, rushing over to the cat.
She grabbed the letter, murmuring something into the tabby's ear. The cat blinked once, before turning on its tail and vanishing out of the Common Room.
Draco watched as Pansy quickly opened the envelope, read what was inside, then frowned and crumpled the parchment.
"Damn it!" She said, setting the small ball of paper aflame with the tip of her wand.
