A WORD FROM DRACO MALFOY'S DIARY
Hello, dear reader.
I am a book that was gifted to a young, blond boy on his eleventh birthday. A boy who had many dreams and many wishes.
A boy who had no idea that all of them would be crushed in a matter of days.
I am not only a holder of memories and secrets, I also am a witness. I saw the first time Luscious Malfoy hit his son. I watched as Draco cried, his pleas falling to deaf ears.
I observed an eleven year old boy learn him mother did not love him. I gazed as events took place with the first and only love of Draco's life, Harry Potter, when he refused the handshake of a boy whom desperately needed one.
I listened for many a year as Draco cried for many hours, night after night, as the school year came to a close. How he wished that he could stay in Hogwarts forever, so that he should never have to return to a place he feared above all else.
The home in which his father lived.
You must understand, reader, that I am prone to Draco's entire existence. I know his life story. Even if I was not there to witness the events that overtook his life, he always scrawled down whatever had happened to him in my pages.
I love Draco, as much as a book can love his flesh and blood owner.
I know of his pain and joy and struggles and triumphs.
And so when I fell from his book bag and dropped to the ground, thumping against the cold dungeon floor, I felt the tragedy dawn as I could not call out, could not alert my master that I had fallen.
And when a boy with messy brown hair and electric green eyes behind a pair of glasses picked me up, I finally understood for myself how Draco felt.
