"Here's where we will be putting up the drapes....blah blah blah"

The party planner ladies constant bantering made me want to staple her mouth shut and make a run for it.

I do not care for this nor do i care for the decorations, the invitations, the food etc.

I'm turning 33 years old and to me it's just another pointless day. Every year since i was 18, I've had these foolish parties to see if i had the chance of meeting my mate. I gave up after my 27th. I will most likely never meet her.

That's fine by me. I'll just find a decent enough she wolf somewhere out there.

"Jaxx. Are you listening?" Spoke my mother while raising an clean shaven eyebrow.

"No mother. This is useless. I will never find my mate. I have realized this a long time ago, it's about time you realize it too." I exclaimed before i spun on my heel and stalked out of the abnormally large ballroom.

"Jaxx!" I heard from down the hall just as i was walking into my bedroom. Looking down the hallway, I spotted my best mate, Brant.

"Hey man. What's up?" He spoke as he finally reached me.

"Same old stuff around this time of year. I am truly exhausted. I have given up all hope on finding her." I said running a clammy hand through my short brown hair.

"I'd figured you would say something like that, so i have took the honor of getting you a date for tonight's celebration." He spoke, a small, smug smirk on his face.

"What did you do?"
