Let me start off by saying, I have come to despise this story, and after four years of it existing on this site, I decided to take it down and redo it. Since I do enjoy the world its set in, just not the way I originally wrote it. I wrote this when I was thirteen, and now I'm slightly older and feel better about my current writing style. Of course, this story may never be where I want it, but at least it will be better than what it was.
This rewrite includes; different characters, a new title, and different names for some of the characters. (Don't worry, Briar will still be Briar, just the new and improved model, and Queen Alexia is still there to bash the sexist's heads in).
I've decided to rename this story The Dragoness because I feel like it gives Briar an identity outside of her "mate" and also it just sounds cooler.
To those of you upset about the rewrite, I apologize, I just didn't feel comfortable leaving my work like that. I feel as though it gave a negative message and I do not want to contribute to any impressionable reader's view of relationships. I know that the sort of books I read before I entered the dating world helped me to set such a low bar for my significant others, and because of that I ended up in unsafe situations. I do not want this for any of my readers, and am doing what I can to end the cycle of teaching young men and women (and others) to accept abuse and unsafe situations.
Now of course, I'm not expert on healthy relationships, but I'm trying my best.
Please be patient, updates may be slow and short because this site isn't the center of my world the way it was in middle school, but I'm going to try my best to keep this story up to date :)
