It was the beginning of Year 11. The very last year of secondary school and arguably the most important. This was the year that decided what your future was going to be like. Whether you had a job or not, an apprenticeship or not, whether you went to university or not. This was the year that you had to make your mind up.
It was 7am in the morning. Yuki was on her way to school. Now for normal students going to school at 7am in the morning when school started at 8:45 am was very strange especially if you lived 10 minutes away from the school. But this wasn't anything weird for Yuki.
In fact it was normal for her, every school day at 7:15am there was breakfast club where you could eat breakfast and also revise for the upcoming mocks. Yuki had been attending these sessions for almost 3 years so she knew everyone there off by heart.
Sometimes Yuki would even stay after school and do revision, and if there it was okay she would spend Saturdays at the school revising for tests.
Now as much as Yuki loved revision and learning, she couldn't help but imagine what her life would look like if she wasn't so "nerdy". People her age were partying, having sex, doing drugs, making friends, living their best lives whilst she was inside for nearly 20 hours a day studying for a test with no friends to talk to.
Because of Yukis different ways in how she lived her life and spent her time, she got bullied. A lot. The guys in her year would push her around and call her discusting names. They would even rip her textbooks and chuck them in the bin. The girls in her year would just laugh and entertain the boys mocking game.
Yuki would defend herself as much as she could but when it's 1 girl vs 17 boys, there's not much luck you have on your side.
She pressed the buzzer and waited for the gate to open. She walked up to the reception and signed her name on the registration form and walked to the library. The library is where the breakfast club took place.
When she got there she was greeted by a bunch of people sitting on the table behind the shelf of encyclopedias. She sat down at grabbed a piece of toast.
"So how's everyone been during the summer holidays?" asked Melody.
"I've been alright, me and my sister went to Majorca for 2 weeks. It was lovely!" exclaimed Molly. Everyone on the table started talking about their holidays and what they got up to.
"So Yuki Yuki, what have u been up to?" asked Stephan whilst nudging me really hard in the shoulder. "More studying?""Haha Stephan, very funny!" said Yuki in a heavily sarcastic tone.
"Anyways, I went on holiday to Tokyo, and I learnt many things about the society of Japan", "Did you know that-" Yuki was about to talk about her trip to Tokyo when a huge group of boys burst through the door. They all piled in one by one, loudly joking around. Everyone in the Breakfast club looked at each other confusingly and sighed.
"IF YOU GUYS ARE GOING TO COME THE BREAKFAST AND REVISION CLUB, YOU MUST BE DOING SOME WORK!!" yelled Mrs Wrong, the leader of the breakfast club. The boys all laughed, not intimidated by the angry teacher at sat down near Yukis table.
"Yo miss, why is everyone here so quiet, these people are so dead man", said David with all his friends agreeing with him.
"Maybe it's because it's 7:39 in the fucking morning?", Yuki said with another sarcastic voice. David and his friends began to talk much quieter than before feeling humbled by Yukis come back.
"Anyways as I was saying before in Tokyo, there's these locker thing in the train stations and people leave their babies in them. Some of them live but a lot of them end up dying of suffocation" I whispered."It must be sad being a locker baby mother, imagine having to live with all that guilt." said Molly.
"I could never be a locker mother" said Marina. Yuki and her club friends nodded.
